I've always been proud to be an American, I just haven't always been proud (to say the least) of the person leading us. I think people do love this country and if they didn't they would not have voted, they would have just given up or moved to some other country.
Plime is an editable wiki community where users can add and edit weird and interesting links. Users earn karma when other users vote on their actions. The more karma you have, the more power you have at Plime.
«hoosker : Well, for one, who were the everyone in your, "why did everyone who said that they didn't like to live here get attacked in this thread"?
You do realise that the thread is 2 years old and that probably half of the participants are no longer participants.
Maybe I'm missing something.
I just read the thread and I was surprised about the reactions of people when some people expressed opinions which they did not like, and I'm curious as to why people acted that way. So I guess the people I was talking about were the people who said that they didn't like living here.
Anyway, how does the age of the thread matter? Or whether anyone who commented in it is still alive or if they all died of old age? I'm still curious as to why people would react to an opinion about a place as if it were a personal insult. Its not like anybody was insulting the place, or even the people in it; they were only expressing their feelings about living in said place.

Once again, please give me an example of someone being "attacked" in this thread.
I read an adult discussion taking place.
And yes, the age of a thread does matter, especially if your asking about someones comment that might not be here.

Maybe 'attacked' isn't the exact right word for it. What I mean is the assumption in some people's comments that its somehow not ok to say anything bad about the US because there's worse out there. I don't see how that has any relevance to whether someone likes to live in the US. What if they wanted to found a new country? Or if in their opinion, the advantages to living in the US aren't as important as the advantages present elsewhere?
So basically, I just don't like the argument.
And anyway, why do we have someone basically saying,"I don't like to live in the US." and someone else basically saying,"Well, you should because its awesome." If it were about something else then people wouldn't be arguing about it and trying to change their opinion. Also, it assumes that there is something wrong with people living in the US who don't like to live here.

I can't comment based on their presence or absence, only based on what strikes my interest.
If some people aren't here we will just have to speculate about their motives behind their backs. Maybe analyze it Freud style, since they are not here and we can get away with it.
