I am extremely critical of my own work. I am neververy rarely pleased with what I create. This is one of the few exceptions.
The assignment was to take a drawing that was done by a famous artist and enlarge it.
The original was only a few inches tall. The image in the book on the left was enlarged to about seven inches tall. My enlargement on the right is over 16 inches tall.
Yeah, it isn't perfect, and I still look at it and see flaws, but it's definitely something I'm happy with.

BTW, the original was by Leonardo Da Vinci.
Very very nice, Syk! very fine and varied strokes which enhance the subtle value changes. Great job! :D

Thanks, Chez! I actually used those india ink markers. I used one set of all the same color with different tips, then I used a second set of varying tones, all of which had the brush tips. Worked out well, I think.

Yay, turned in my sculpture class project today... grade's still pending.
It's supposed to be a "non-functional study of product design, manufacturing style and / or zeitgeist in Germany" for a certain period - the 1910s in my case.
Turned out to be some slightly steampunkish, fake art-nouveau piece of Prussian warfare technology including obscure electrical installations.
And it fits into a commercially obtainable baking oven. It's actually pretty small; probably fits into a medium-sized microwave oven, too.

The glass is from a butt-ugly lamp (i removed the brass turtle body from beneath it... yuck), the "armor" is some self-curing clay stuff with wire and nails in it, all painted light grey. The base is cardboard with nails, painted.

Sorry for the crappy image quality.
I love it. You should paint it a nice rust color with gold or bronze details. It would look pretty sweet with the red and black glass parts too.
