I was born in Russia and when I was 8 months (yes that's right, not years) my mother took me to Moldova, so since then I live in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova. In case you don't know: Moldova is a small country situated between Ukraine and Romania.
I graduated the Academy of Economic Studies here. I live with my gf, but visit my mother (who now lives alone) every Sunday.

Me too. There are some who think I speak like Anthony Daniels, but I have to stress that those are people who have never met me or even heard my voice.

I don't.

And when i say "pie" it rhymes with "eye", and not "koi".

Born and raised in Maine (about as northeast as you can get in the US, for those who might not know where Maine is...), moved to Wyoming and lived on a cattle ranch there for a little over a year, and then moved back to Maine after the husband finished school in Wyo.

So, we are Mainers again. We've been back here for about two years now, and although it's definitely home, I think both of us have been feeling the "itchy feet" as we call it, and in the next few years would like to try another part of the country for awhile. Haven't decided where yet, but the Pacific Northwest looks interesting. Alaska does, too, but I'm not sure even Maine and Wyoming winters have prepared me for that.

Got my first place at 20 years old a couple miles away in Flushing Queens. What a wonderful name for a neighborhood. Lasted there 2 years, then back to Jackson Heights.

Eleven years ago I moved north to Westchester, barely.. to the village of Tuckahoe. 6,000 people. Geez, that's the population of my street in Queens!

Well, I'm still there, 10 minutes from sykeo. I do spend my weekends in the NJ bay town of Atlantic Highlands. with my boyfriend. And mercifully, I work in NYC.
Sykeo56 and suebe in one county! You know that has to be an awesome county.

I'm from a small town in Kentucky, USA. Despite the fact that there's not really much to do, I'd rather live here than in any large city.

Then I clicked the name and found it was me. Hmm i don't remember doing that but hey ho.
That is so wierd that you live right down the street from yourself. You brits are so crazy sometimes.

Yes, but how do you say "eye"?

(ON TOPIC) I was born and raised around Youngstown, Ohio; a virtual wasteland. Youngstown is like a pile of old bones from some great mythical creature.

(By the way, apparently there are three of us in Ohio? I'm NE, Trauma is South, and what about you Glik?)

i was born and raised in honolulu, hawaii. moved to boise, idaho a little over 3 years ago (don't ask me why, the why is too complicated to defragment into any one answer). after i get my degree, i think i'll head to oregon. i miss the ocean. but for me, the pacific ocean is much more beautiful from the pacific northwest view. most people prefer the tropical. i prefer the rain, moss, cold misty mornings of oregon, and bed bath and beyond. and the olive garden. hawaii doesn't have either. i'm actually not too big into the olive garden, but it's nice being able to brag about having been to the olive garden. people back home get really jealous. until they remember that i'm living in podunk, idaho. then they just kind of laugh. and then i feel sad. but then i think of oregon. and then i get happy. :D

suebe, do you have a sweet ass NY accent?

actually, i guess when i say NY accent, i have no idea what i mean. maybe i am just thinking of brookland or something. one of my instructors in high school had a thicckkk NY accent, and she would always turn the a's at the end of words into "er." british people do that too. it's quite charming when they do. it wasn't charming when she did it. it was like she was spitting words out. she always seemed angry, but i think it was just how guttural her accent was.
