We've been back here for about two years now, and although it's definitely home, I think both of us have been feeling the &quot;itchy feet&quot; as we call it, and in the next few years would like to try another part of the country for awhile. Haven't decided where yet, but the Pacific Northwest looks interesting. It was off one of the main drags, the whole building was sinking in the middle and full of cockroaches.  It was pretty awful.  It was run by some crook slum-lord who also owned the train station. And the University. My parents had emigrated there from the Netherlands in the mid-fifties.<br/>Went to school and university there, did my two years of national (military) service mostly in nearby Pretoria.<br/>Worked (quite a bit in the field, out of a caravan) in various northern parts of the country.<br/>Moved to Ghana with my wife and kids in the mid-nineties, until about 2001.<br/>Moved to the Netherlands, where my wife still works and two sons study.  Third son lives and studies back in South Africa.<br/>And since mid-2005 I live and work in Ghana again, until the middle of 2008.<br/><br/>So when people ask us where we're from, they tend to get confusing and conflicting answers from my family.  This happened in the States once, when we were on holiday there.
