Well one time me and my friend were walking, its the same friend I mentioned in the man earrings friend only this was before the earrings.

Anyways we were walking and I was listening to some music low enough so I could hear him talk but still on, and so we were walking and I feel the ground shake and my friend taps me on the shoulder with an astonished look on his face and points upwards. I quickly glance up and see a purple light and because the look on his face and the ground shaking I think UFO and I must have jumped or something because my friend gave me a weird look. I told him I thought he was pointing to a UFO and we started cracking up. The light happened to be a purple light in a window and the reason he was pointing was just because the light was purple and my friend said he didn't feel the ground shake. I've told this story before and not many people get it so maybe its one of those
"you had to be there type things."

Also one day I said bee stings don't hurt and then that same day I got stung and it hurt, actually the last 3 times i've said bee stings dont hurt i've been stung. I've finally learned not to say it.

I remember a instance where I was at my old job aswering phones for tech support. I then started thinking about my family and how our relationships were falling apart.

Not more than a minute later my phone rings, I answer it with the usual schpeil, and it was my sister. She started yelling at me through my work phone and I told her she was going to get me fired if she didn't get off my phone and call me on my cellphone during my lunch break.

That day was the day my family decided to disown me.

Three weeks later I was 'let go' because of company 'cut backs', even though I was brining in the most revenue for the company through sales.

Bah I know that song too. But then again, I was DJ for a time at a college radio station.

And probably there are even less who understand completely why this is a fitting response:

Because David Bowie covered the Modern Lovers song Pablo Picasso, and here he is with his song Modern Love thereby adding to the Plate o' Shrimps concept?

Am I right? Am I?!

I was walking through the train station on my way home from work; I was a bit later than usual as I had been slightly delayed for some reason. Normally I’d leave work with a friend of mine as we normally started and finished at the same time but he was away.
Now, as a bit of background, my friend A had been trying to set me up with his friend S and had been pestering us for the last few months and at this stage I had decided it wasn’t such a bad idea. The two of them lived about 5 minutes walk from each other so they got the same train home but normally at different times as they finished work at different times and their places of work were nowhere near each other.
I happened to look at my watch and saw it was just after 5:15 and I thought to myself ‘A would have missed his usual train, but there’s another one at 5:23, I wonder if S is getting that train’. I have no idea why I would think that as S usually got a much earlier train, it was a completely random thought. Within about a minute I saw S walking through the station to get the train so I went over and started chatting to him. That was in August, we started going out in September and 10 months on we’re still going strong, you’d never find such a perfect match, we’ve even been known to say the same thing at the same time. There were so many coincidences that eventually brought us together. Some people say there are no such things as coincidences, just little miracles.

Almost - that there are, in any random subset of people, two who have heard Mr Bowie's criminally underrated album Reality is the biggest coincidence of all.

Ok, I just started mowing my lawn at exactly the same time as my nutty neighbour and she came over to the fence and accused me of "copying her" 0_0

I just said "Hmmmmmm, plate o' shrimps" and carried on mowing.

I'm pretty certain I heard her brain explode with confusion...

Just last night I was sitting in a pub garden discussing Dune. Specifically a friend was telling be stuff about the Butlerian Jihad. My knowledge of Dune is pretty much limited to the David Lynch film so it was all completely unheard or to me.

Then today I see this comment from Jestor.

For anyone strolling past at a later date, there's less than 24hrs in it.

What are the chances of that?

I couldn't remember the exact names of their songs, tried googling little shit I remembered ...nothing

I get in the truck, and while driving home I decide maybe if I change to a rock station I will here them...what are the chances that the very minute I switched the station

this was on!!!

Well, I just woke up and was told that my mother went off to the market place.
I called to ask her if she could pick me up a few bandannas while she was there, and she said "Wow! How funny is that? I'm looking at some right now, I was going to call you."

That's not really all that amazing, but when it happened I was hoping that someone had bumped this thread recently so I wouldn't have to hunt it down, and bam, it got a bump today after two weeks.

A coincidence solely if you go looking for them, but as I was making this comment, BernardBlack was posting this. Death, employment, similar sorts of things.

I was driving from old apartment to new the other day. Went through the first traffic circle in the new town, then a block later, while entering the 2nd traffic circle I realized "Roundabout" by Yes was playing on the radio.

That kind of thing used to happen to my mother and I all the time. It's a wonderful thing.

Yesterday I had the strongest feeling that change was about to happen. Not bad change, just change.

Then when I was about to get off work, my daughter called me and invited me to come have coffee with her and a guy friend at Common Grounds, a place near where I work. I went, we sipped our coffee and chatted, and then I went on my way a while later. She didn't want anything from me, except for my company.

It's the first time she's ever called and invited me to just hang out. WOOT!

Ok so My friend was over right, and I was thinking about cocktail sauce for some reason. Like I hate cocktail sauce and I've never like thought about it, and then my friend goes I'm having this odd craving for shrimp right now, and I was like "no way I was just think bout cocktail sauce." It was pretty freaky, and this is the plate o' shrimp thread so that's like double plate o shrimp, right?

My whole life is like this, one uncanny coincidence after the other. I never really realized that other people have these things happen to them as well until my girlfriend had me read the Celestine Prophecies.
