For all the PS3 owners that have a Netflix account, they announced today that we will finally be able to stream Instant Movies through our PS3s.

Go to your Netflix accounts, click the Instantly to your TV tab, and under See All Devices, reserve your free Netflix instant streaming disc for PS3. They should be mailed out in November.

Woot!

Yeah, that's big news for the PS3, but the service isn't completely free though. It's $8.99 a month, but still a much needed addition to level the playing field. :)

It's not a sequel, but it's the same team that made those. Oh, and it now has an actual title. "The Last Guardian"

Aren't they all related in a way though? Like apart of the same world and cannon?

Not as far as I know, but there's not enough details about the game at this point. Apparently the gameplay is supposed to be similar to the previous two games and the look is also very similar. Besides that I don't think it actually shares any connection with the stories of the other games. Of course we won't actually know for sure until it's released.

Did you play ICO and Shadow of the Colossus? In the end, the baby has horns just like the character in ICO. I think they are related. Either way, I'm still playing this game.

Well everyone raves over this particular model because it has hardware emulation for PS2 games as opposed to software emulation in the 80GB models that were still sold last year, and no emulation for PS2 games since. Other than that the only other major revision compared to the new models is that it has flash memory card slots, and compared to the Slim can run Linux. So depending on your needs it isn't that big a deal.

Personally I'd rather go with a new one (either the fat or the Slim) because I don't care about flash slots, and I have a PS2 that still runs fine. So it really comes down to what you need out of it, but those omissions aren't that major in my book. Of course if I were to say this in the official PS forum I'd get stoned, but that's my honest opinion. Plus, you can find pretty good bundles with the new Slim that make the $300 jump a lot nicer, and for the fact that it's also a Blu-ray player it's a pretty good deal either way.

Edit: I wrote that in a quick haze and rereading it, it's not what I was trying to say. The 60GB can run Linux, the new models can't. Also another oversight, the new ones come with DUALSHOCK 3's, that model only has a SIXAXIS.
