« craziesean : have you check to see if you have a irregular heartbeat or any type of lung issue. it would be good to catch it early. I wanna keep the "super cashew" around here as long as possible.
I'm going to see if I can schedule something as soon as possible. It wigs me out.

Dear You,

It's rather unfortunate that you do not realize how much of my time you are wasting. You talk incessantly about nothing that interests me. Your power point presentation is ridiculously unimaginative. You and others like you are so jaded into thinking that I and we really care about what you're saying.

You are not the most important priority in my life right now, yet you expect me to commit hours upon hours of reading and writing only so that you can lazily skim over my words and subjectively issue me a grade which is probably lower than what I actually deserve only because your ego will not allow someone like me to to do so well on your assignments with such little effort.

But alas, I will press on. I have no choice but to press on.

Sincerely,

Me

Why oh WHY am I stuck at 12? I feel as though I have been a darn 12 for an eternity!!!

Who do I gotta know to reach 13?

But on to a more serious note.

My best friend is dying. She was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and it has spread to various parts of her body. I am trying to wrap my head around the fact that I am losing someone who has been my constant for the last 16 years.
She is going Friday for an appointment with a Cyberknife facility and I am hoping against all hope that they can offer her some hope.

:(

UPDATE: Tomorrow will be three weeks and I feel like I can talk about it now. Save for leeh and one other nifty Plimate, I have kept this pretty private.

Kimberly Flores Passed away March 3. 2008 at 10:45. She finally let go in the hospital after a very short and painful battle with cancer. She was very loved and will be missed. She was my best friend, pseudo mother, confidant and mentor.

I lost a very dear friend December 31st to lung cancer. I am so sorry for you and your friend and hope that there is something that can be done.

So do I. I am hoping that the cyberknife can offer some relief but at this point, even getting her to the office that does it (state away) might be difficult.

Thank you for your words.

And thanks for the upvotes. ;)

« sparklyeyedgal181 : I'm being phased out at my job and I'm pretty sure it's because I'm pregnant. My boss now has me "sharing" my tasks with the new girl, and I now get three-day weekends (with a pay decrease).

Today, my boss talked about me taking four day weekends and yet another pay decrease when I get into the third trimester (because he's 'worried' about the baby). Which of course will no longer entitle me to any benefits, because I'll only be part-time. The only reason I'm still at the job is for the insurance.

Ugh... I'm pretty sure there are laws against this type of thing, but I hate my job so much I don't really think it's worth fighting for.
There are laws against this. Has your boss been documenting why he's decreasing your time? Even if you don't like the job, your boss doesn't have the right to phase you out because of your pregnancy.

I have been trying to get in shape for over a month and the scale just wont budge. I have cut back to about 1500cals (from 2500) and I get over an hour and a half of exersize every day but still nothing. It is driving me insane and I want to throw in the towel, I feel hungry all the time and recently it has been hard to stay under 2000cals.

These things take a bit of time. And muscle is heavier than fat, so with all the working out your doing, you're probably putting on muscle. Making yourself hungry doesn't sound healthy to me either... Why do you feel you need to cut back on your calorie intake so much? If you're already close to your ideal weight, you'll also find it tricky to lose weight.

I am not making myself hungry, my metabolism is doing that. I felt fine the first few weeks, but after all the working out my body just doesn't want so few calories any more and I am not sure if I should increase the cals, or lax on the exersize. being thin really isn't as important to me as being fit, but I just don't feel any progress either way.

Why do you feel you need to cut back on your calorie intake so much? If you're already close to your ideal weight, you'll also find it tricky to lose weight.
1500 seems reasonable and from what I have read it is about the average I should be having for my
age/gender in order to lose weight.. It is tricky, and I don't know what else to do.

^^ Keep the exercise, but add some more (healthy) food. Daily exercise will keep your body happy and in good working order forever.

We're all different, but I find that I get cranky if I don't get out for a run/paddle/bike ride every day.

If you REALLY want to shape up, come and be one of my summer students. Spending 3 months trekking through the bush with a pack full of rocks every day will shape you up for sure!
