Hmmm, for some reason it doesn't sit well for me. Maybe for the Something Awful crowd, so I guess if that's the type of place you're advertising at.

Also, I associate needle sharing more with heroin (maybe it's just me), but I get the crack reference (probably more addictive). It's just the two don't seem to go together. Honestly, I just had to look up whether crack is even injected. I've always thought smoking crack was the delivery of choice.

I agree with Alton, I think the drug reference (much like porn) would diminish the site, Jax..plus the thought sort of reminds me of another site..

I don't mind the drug reference. I just want to add my two cents, a junkie is a heroin addict, a crack addict is a crackhead. I think that the slogan should read

"Smack for news junkies. We share needles."

It all works, just correcting the drug references.

I like that better. Still not keen on the drug reference, but that doesn't leave me puzzled, and it's funny.

How about "Crack for News junkies. Come share our addiction."

I don't think any drug references should be used at all. When I saw the new link on Worth my first two thoughts were... "Worthians will think this is funny" and "Non Worthians will think this just another ploy to get me to view another site I'm not interested in". I hope I'm not offending... I do have other ideas if interested. Forgive me Jax! :(

Well, that's descriptive, but the idea here is to grab the visitor and make them want to click the ad. The ad is deliberately edgy because it does just that. People either laugh or become offended, but either way they notice the ad and click on it to see what it's talking about.

If you have any ideas that can do that - namely make someone want to click it - then that's the kind of ad I'd run.
