Due to time constraints in running and maintaining it, Plime is for sale. Please contact avi[a]worth1000.com if you are seriously interested in buying it.
Many of you have expressed the opinion that Plime has become too dramatic and less of the friendly community it once was. Bickering and backstabbing have become commonplace (so it is said).
I really hate to bring myself to say this, as I have been sitting back and watching the drama unfold, but I must admit my part in it all. I am the cause. I started it all.
Let me explain.
Two years ago I was perusing the local garage or "rummage" sales in my neighborhood. I happened on many good deals for a variety of sundry items. But at one house I found an odd contraption while digging through the free bin.
It looked like this:
I pulled it out, turning it over in my hand. I brought it home and forgot about it until several months ago after cleaning my room. I examined it and found a switch on it's underside. I flicked it on. Ever since then, things on Plime have been dramatic. Sorry. My bad. . . . Or the sturm und drang could be due to the fact that we are experiencing a tremendous amount of growth. Or that we have been finding/exploiting loopholes in the system, and as a result, experienced some unintended consequences. Or it's because even though we have an FAQ we still aren't in total agreement about what is appropriate to post.
Is it time to revisit the (well crafted) FAQ? Should we create a list of things that the Plime community values?
I feel that all this community needs is a slight readjustment of focus.
Plime is an editable wiki community where users can add and edit weird and interesting links. Users earn karma when other users vote on their actions. The more karma you have, the more power you have at Plime.
I've always wondered what a thingamajig was. Now I know. I even know what a thingamajig does now!
I guess I'm one of these new Plime rookies. The FAQ's are linked when you join, but I think it would be great to have them up near the top of the screen instead of buried down in the categories.
When did we vote on the maturity thing? Keep in mind we have a reputation for derailing any conversation into a completely unrelated area, often involving something immature. THAT is why Plime rules. While being respectful, we still accept each other despite (because of) these faults.
