This one is working now.

Not sure if it will remain up.

Get it while it's hot.

Got it!!
And nothing works
Flash needs updating, Photobucket won't work, youtube won't work (probs because of flash) None of my favourites or bookmarks migrated.

Anyways, what's the difference anyway?

It's apparently had 5000 changes from the previous version, biggest being a new rendering engine. In theory, that should make it a lot faster (and that's certainly been my experience with the various betas).

I've just installed it now and found no problems with Flash/YouTube or Photobucket. Weirdly I was having troubles with the latter before, but that seems to have fixed.

Just goes to show something or other.

« Mershaullk : My only problem so far with RC3 is that sometimes it doesn't want to play media files. It'll go two seconds without sound and then completely stop with video. The video itself will completely load, but it won't play it. Nothing happens at all with audio files.

The only solution that I've found is to completely restart the browser. It will then work for a few hours, but it always happens again eventually.
Okay, I'm getting tired of this. It's already happened at least 6 times today. Does anyone have any clue as to why? Is anyone else even having this problem?

Also, whenever I try to place a new bookmark directly into a folder, either by double-clicking the star in the URL bar or ctrl+d, my StumbleUpon toolbar disappear. It's still on, just not visible. The built in toolbars still work.

So by way of a follow up to 2Many's post about the imminence of Google's browser Chrome it was made available today.

(Just to clarify, I'm not saying that Google released Chrome because 2Many said they would, but then he is a powerful guy)

If you want it and you're running Windows you can download it here

I put it on my XP box and have to say that in the simple tests I put it through the biggest impression I take from it is that it's fast - grease through a goose fast.

Anyone else try it yet?

I've been browsing and posting from Chrome for an hour or so now. It's incredibly fast. I haven't seen any problems yet.

Edit: apparently Chrome's V8 processes javascript 10 times faster than FF or Safari, and 56 times faster than IE 7. So there should be lot of improvement in script heavy sites, such as Gmail (of course), Plime, Worth and so on.

Edit2: Yay you can resize comment text areas :D

So, I downloaded it. And automatically without even asking it imported all the crap from IE.
Now I have all my mother's bookmarks on here.
Ugh.

I like the look of it, though. Very simple.

Edit: Holy crap and wicked frikkin fast!

It does offer you the option to not do that, but it's not obvious when it happens - a button comes up that says "modify settings" or some such.

It pulled in my entire FF browsing history too. I wonder if it ever calls home...

Well before it even opened it had a little box already importing the bookmarks.
I just imported my FF bookmarks, or well the three I've added back since it deleted them all.

I'm digging this browser.
So many cool features.

Edit to add: Gmail is a dream on this thing.

Nor Linux. And their all to clever download site wouldn't let me download the Windows installer on my Linux system so I could run it under Wine.

I'm getting the feeling that this is something of a hurried release. Either the leak of the comic book prompted it or it's in response to Microsoft's press about IE8 recently.

For installation purposes, if you don't want it to import settings this is the point where you change it:

It doesn't exactly draw attention to itself.

Click where it says Customise These Settings and you get this:

Once you're done with that screen it looks like it's crashed, but a bit of patience and off it goes.
