edit: I made a vase full of flower pens last year and my mom seemed to like them.

Oh, ditto. I've got a double-whammy. My mom's birthday is the day after Mother's Day...and I have less than no ideas.

good question. i'm guessing i'll get her some flowers or her favorite perfume...

Mom's getting a paving stone for her garden, a scarf she's been wanting, and flowers delivered to her at work, the Monday before, so she can enjoy them at work all week and make everyone else jealous.

Hm, since I have the two events, I might send real flowers for the birthday and make flowers for Mother's Day! It's just pens, floral tape and a fake flower, right?

Pretty much, but if you want it to be sturdy you should pop off the pen top, stick the stem in and hot glue it before you wrap it up in floral tape for good measure ;)

Probably giving her one of my paintings from this semester. There's a nice one I made of a bridge that I think she'll like, if not then there's a crazy 'german expressist' inspired one that she might also like. I might upload them and you guys pick it out for me.
I also need to get something for my grandma (whose bday is the 10th) and my aunt who practically raised me D:

I bought her a cute little pendant in silver and gold of two cats snuggling, and a crystal turtle for her amazingly huge turtle figurine collection. Also, I'll be roping Mr. Grey into cooking for her on Sunday.

I'm always at a loss what to get my mother. If she wants something, she goes and buys it.

I usually take her out to lunch IF she is in town. My stepfather tends to take her away for the weekend on Mother's day.

How's this sound:
Coming up I have mother's day, mom's birthday, father's day, father's birthday, and parents' anniversary. These two months are insanity.

Same here. My Mom's birthday is the 8th. I have no idea what to get her....

But she is buying a new car. I might just pay for Onstar (or something similar) when she gets it.

I got my mom email!!!

Months ago my mom gave me a funny little hat, and asked me to take black & white portraits of as many people as I could wearing it. I could not explain to you why she wanted this, but that's my mom for you.

So I'm giving her prints of the last couple I've gotten done.



This is the first year that I haven't offered to help my husband shop for his mom. I don't think that's going well for him... But he hasn't asked for help so I'm not going to butt in.

Mom...*heh* I miss her. Got nothing.

Mothers day having been way back in march in the UK, I got Claire a Picture frame with a picture of Maddison in it.

As for my own mother I got her nothing as I hate her so much I wish she was dead.....

Hmm...maybe some worm-be-gone. She might like some perfume stuff to get rid of that rotting stench... I'm not quite sure.

I like to get mom flowers and take her out to brunch. I will probably take her to the nursery to buy some flowering plants that she can put in her garden.
