With a RottenTomatoes score of 94%, the lovely Mrs. Boot and I were interested to see if Iron Man would live up to its $102,118,668 box office. It did.

Engaging storyline, sweet special effects, and knockout performance all came together to make this movie a stunning addition to the Marvel genre. And that's all I'm going to say because you need to go see it for yourself.

My rating: (V)(V)(V)(V) 4/5 bunny ears. Not only is it definitely a go-see, it's one you'll want to own.

I agree. There were only a few plot holes, and even those exist only when one tries to force it to comply with the 'real world'. I enjoyed Robert Downey's performance very much...and look forward to Ironman II!

On another note, one of the previews showed yet another upcoming remake of the Incredible Hulk. I guess Hollywood producers are determined to remake that movie every five years until someone actually, you know, likes it.

Heh--yeah, we saw that preview as well. From all around me, I could hear people muttering about remaking it because the first was such a piece of crap.

Freakin' awesome. Goin' the whole 9 yards on this one. Not only did I see it, but I want to see it again, download the bootleg, buy the DVD, upload it to iTunes, and watch it on my iPhone and my iPod.

You weren't keen on it then?

Lol. We also saw the preview for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Harrison Ford is looking really old and tired to be doing that sort of thing. My wife quipped that in the next movie, Indiana will be riding one of those Rascal scooters, and the whole movie will be an Alzheimer's-induced hallucination. Heh.

Downloaded the bootleg and watched it on the iPhone last night/today on the train. Haven't watched it on the iPod yet, or bought the DVD...

It took them five tries to get Batman right.

*Edit* Although I am a HUGE Ed Norton fan and may watch it on that factor alone.

I don't know that it is the best superhero film, but it was excellent. I was never a fan of Iron Man, and I am glad they were able to turn a fairly boring comic into a good block buster.

Neither really captured the reality that this one did. This was real. It was scary. I dont know, personally I think the Spiderman movies have veered way to far from the original path, and the X-Men's were good, but this was better. It had everything a great action movie needed.

Comedy that worded, compelling realistic story line, Robert Downey Jr. being a prick.

Super heroes need not be realistic.

Certainly did. In fact, I waited in the theater until after the part after the credits. Sat there for two hours after the projector turned off. Nothing else happens after that last bit, I promise. The only thing that happens is that they lock you in. And they shut off the popcorn and slurpee machine so it's extra boring.
