« sputum : That is a goood lookin' tractor. I hope you are able to get it. Thanks, it is purty as these things go, but my local Lowe's is "temporarily out of stock" so it may be a wash. I will see if they can get it in before the grass gets 6 feet high (that should be around 10 a.m. Thursday at this rate). And it may be another week before I know about the bonus which would make the budget a bit healthier. I'll let you know if I end up with this or the Troy Bilt from Home Depot.

I bought a Sears (Craftsman) last fall to replace my 16 year old Sears mower (it sill worked, I sold it to my neighbor). They had a Husqvarna sitting there.. and it was exactly the same mower as the Craftsman.. just a different color and a few hundred bucks more.
Research.. check these things on the web and you'll find that many of the mowers come out of the same factory.
So far.. I love my Sears hydrostatic drive mower.

Cup holders on a riding mower are about as useful as my third tit.

...I've said too much, haven't I? Not at all.. Mowers are going to jostle your beer around and make it flat in minutes. My suggestion.. drink water while you mow.. drink beer on the patio.

NOTE TO SELF: Develop cooler holder for riding mowers, or mower with built in cooler. Kegeraters for 42" or bigger blades.
I'm not discussing the third nipple.
kakana, anything but a water bottle is going to be undrinkable in mere minutes. I know. My solution is to put a glass of water somewhere that I can drive by occasionally to grab a drink.

I would suggest the Toro. They're well-built machines. As for grease points, I leave that to my mechanic.
