« pocksucket : Oscar Wilde wrote The Importance of Being Earnest while living here and named one of the character after the town.

It's not hard to see why Stephen Fry played him in the film is it?

Rumour has it that no prosthetic face enhancements were used.

For those who haven't seen the film (Wilde), a) see it, it's great, and b) this is what Mr Fry looked like in it:

The lovely view from my window. In our town of only 850 people, and no streetlights, we have four churches. Here's one of them, the Universalist Church (only partially blocked by the telephone pole):

Now rational thought says that's probably not, but years of watching MASH made me first off think that was Korea...

I'm living in Prince Albert. I wouldn't do a Google image search on that, especially with "Safe Search = Off".

Although it'd somewhat describe the city.

I'll always consider my "hometown" as the town I grew up in.....not where I live now.

So, in honor of that tiny West Texas town, I give you the things that make Floydada famous:

Leonard's Cafe:

The Dixie Dog:

Pumpkin Capital, USA:

And the birthplace of Don Williams:

You what that Riverwalk needs? A Mexican Food Restaurant! That would be awesome!

The castle in the main square of my hometown in Eire.

The bronze bull at the entrance to the town. It's a big market town, with a large mart every Tuesday, so the Bull is the perfect rep.

I dunno which one to go for...

Haha! Still, I have to agree with you.

If you're in PA then you're almost my neighbour!

I live in Saskatoon right now. It's okay, but I don't really like city life in general, and it seems that nobody here can parallel park!

Barton Springs pool. It's a manmade public pool just south of downtown Austin. It's spring fed so it's a constant 68 degrees, which is really nice in the middle of the summer when most swimming pools have heated to bath water temperatures.

Here's a cove at Lake Travis. There are lots of similar swimming holes throughout the area because of the area's terrain.

Finally, Hamilton Pool Preserve, that I've been to a few times.

The Lorain Lighthouse. We eat at a restaurant twice a month with all you can eat mussels and the view is so pretty. You can see the boats in the harbor and a beautiful sunset. I have to remind myself I don't live on the ocean. A beautiful Great Lake is almost as good.

I don't live near here anymore, when I was a kid I went here every summer, one summer I went almost every week. I have many happy memories. Long before Mr. Disney built his empire, a man named, Knott opened his berry farm to the public.

Welcome to Detroit, Michigan, birthplace of Marlo Thomas and Larknet! Granted I am not as famous as Ms. Thomas, but I enjoyed my 10 years there. I am proud to say I am a Michigander.
