« larknet : Welcome to Detroit, Michigan, birthplace of Marlo Thomas and Larknet! Granted I am not as famous as Ms. Thomas, but I enjoyed my 10 years there. I am proud to say I am a Michigander.
So you lived on the heel of the thumb, eh?

« chinook : Haha! Still, I have to agree with you.

If you're in PA then you're almost my neighbour!

I live in Saskatoon right now. It's okay, but I don't really like city life in general, and it seems that nobody here can parallel park!
Is that the Susquehanna in your Avvie?

I hope people don't get the wrong idea with this one. It's actually Reading Pennsylvania but other than a picture of guns and knives the old pagoda (used to be a Hotel for the famous actors in the 50's and 60's) was the only apporiate image I could think of.

Idora Park, the skeletal remains of what was once part of the booming economy of the area. The state of Idora Park is a frighteningly accurate reflection of Youngstown.

If anyone is interested in more images from my city, or a bit of reading; here is a not-even-close-to-being-finished interactive story I'm working on that takes place in Youngstown.

A Jackson Heights, NYC landmark, Jahn's Ice Cream Parlor

My brother owned the flower shop next door for years. When I was in elementary school, I used to go there for lunch. On your birthday, you can get a free sundae.

Every few years, they seem to have a major grease fire. Several years ago a fireman perished as a result of injuries suffered fighting one of those fires.

Ok, so changing...

This is the WarHorse Inn. It was a staple of downtown for many, many years. It was a nice steak house, then a dive bar.
