Seriously, yeh that's the one. I read it first on honeymoon (that's not all I did) and it brings back great memories as well as being one of the best books I've read.

For my book I'd bring a survivalist handbook

I wouldn't really care what music I brought... my mp3 player picks up radio stations too, so hopefully I'd be close enough to civilization to pick up some kind of new music occasionally. I'd make up my own songs during times when I felt like it. If I'm on the island long enough I'm sure I'll figure out how to make some kinds of instruments.

For my extra item, I'd bring a machete, like someone mentioned before. A really shiny machete, so I can use it like a mirror.

Book - a survival guide or an encyclopedia

CD - I have this MP3 CD that has some Boards of Canada on it and I'd probably take that

Additional item - Our dog McGruff. He could hunt, he could help plow. He's all muscle; he's like a machine. He was bred to be "the poor man's horse" and he's amazing. He could keep me warm on cool nights and of course he'd keep me company. He has a pulling harness and he's remarkably strong.

Book: I'll be honest. I don't read. It isn't that I can't read, I just get no pleasure oot of reading a book. So... I guess a survival guide would be my choice.

Album: Since you have ruled oot all compilation and best of albums... this will require a lot of thought. Probably one of the Zeppelin albums.

Book Some sort of guide to herbs and plants. Which ones can be used, and how. Something as simple as an abscessed tooth could kill you with the infection.
