A summer anthem is the kind of song that is sung as the sun sets at the Glastonbury festival the singer stops singing and the crowd continue the song all the way to the end and then it stops. The crowd go nuts, looking back on it you remember the song for the rest of your days and the feeling that you had standing in a field with over 80 thousand other people all singing the same song.
Maybe I'm just being nostalgic but every year there is one song that hits me right in that place where I can imagine everyone singing it and an unbelievably peacefull and happy smile creeps across my face at the thought of it.
This year it would have to be "One day like this" by Elbow. Currently being championed by Radio 2, I can't help feeling summery and smiley when I hear this song.

But there was no stadium sing-a-long, it was more music you could cruise with in your car, with the windows down, all day long. Score: [-] 58 [+]. I'm a bit ashamed to say I'm liking Newton Faulkner a lot at the moment, nice clean guitar and a great summer vibe. I watched him live recently and he's got shed-loads of talent.
