"What's for dinner?"

I've been divorced and living by myself for 9 years now(with the exception of when my sons &/or girlfriend stay for the weekend.) Eating dinner is becoming very boring. I would like your help with "Dinner for one." I can do leftovers if it's good reheated(like spagetti). Tonight I had a pork chop, marinated artichok hearts and pesto Top Ramen (not made as soup, less water and made as a noodle thing). I eat more hamburgers any man ever seen. HELP! Please...

If somebody was to add a 'Food and Drink' Category, this thread would have the perfect home... I really think Plime needs it...

Anywho! Dude, you have too much motivation, I've worked in pub/restaurant kitchens before and I find it hard to motivate myself to cook for two! And even that's normally a simple pasta dish, or beans on toast if you're really lucky!

If you regularly eat alone it can become boring, I remember that from my days living alone above most things. Invite people over and share the experiance. Friends, neighbours, family... Even cooking together can be fun in a ready-steady-cook kind of way!

In the meat counter, there are some, already prepared meats that I like to use to feed my family. I have two nine year old kids, and sometimes making meals from scratch is not possible.

So, the Tyson seasoned beef is a good start.
Buy some frozen (get the high quality for this) peppers (already sliced), tortillas, and some shredded cheese. Sautee the veggies in olive oil till tender, pour in the beef, cook for five minutes. Put into tortilla w/cheese. Quick and easy.

You can use chicken, too.

Good quick, easy meals.

I have a suggestion on what not to eat.

Also, grilled ham&cheese with Arbies sauce. Best quick one person meal of all time.

One of my quickie, bachelor meals that I really liked was to brown some hamburger, throw in an evelope of taco seasoning, add a little less water than called for, so it would be slightly thick and then spoon it over some instant mashed potatos. I could usually make it in less than 20 minutes.

Garlic Steak for One

1 small, extra lean steak, 4 oz.
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 clove garlic, sliced into 10 pieces
Salt and pepper, if desired

Poke holes all over steak with fork, then make 10 little slivers with knife. Put garlic slices into slivers. On plate or in plastic bag, marinate steak in Worcestershire sauce at least 1 hour, turning once, in refrigerator. Away from direct flame, grill or broil steak until done to your liking, turning at least once. Do not char. Add salt and pepper, if desired.

Chicken Picatta.

Obtain a chicken breast. Slice into small pieces about the size of that part of your hand at the base which moves when your thumb does? Sorry if that's a tad vague. Fairly smallish pieces, anyways.

Two bowls - dry and wet mixes. Dry mix is flour and a bit of salt as well as any herbs you want to add in.
Wet mix is eggs and milk. Go for about half half.
Dip chicken slices in dry mix to cover.
Dunk slices in wet mix.
Panfry for 3 to five minutes each side.
Serve with pasta of your choice - the chicken is actually very good with tomato sauce (not ketchup, a sauce made from tomatoes). Or at least homemade tomato sauce, not sure about store-bought stuff from a jar. Should work though.

Hah hah! Does anybody here realize he's joking? I think?

Maybe this website will help. Bear in mind, I haven't taste tested these. And if I'm ever out your way, Oh Bornbad one, I'll cook for you.

It's pointless to downvote him for bumping a thread, I don't care about the reason.

The point is, it's not your concern.

Skan can and will complain if he so feels like it.

People can and will vote as they see fit.

The "community" need not comment on every vote.

From the FAQ:
When should I downvote a link/post/comment/thread/edit?
Negative Votes can be applied when you find a post and/or comment to be rude, insulting, spamming, or trolling, or if you feel it content that you feel it doesn't make the community better. Articles that are not of interest to you should not be down voted. Comments that contradict your opinion should not be downvoted unless the comment is derogatory and/or offensive.

I agree with Jerry. A downvote here was pointless and immature. It's also not in the "spirit" of Plime.

EDIT: Upholding the FAQ's is EVERYONE'S concern
