«86Apex : Sorry keeper, I wasn't going to share that recipe with anyone but Maven's got me wrapped around her finger. If you're ever in the area I'll gladly make some for you though. :)
Deal, but at least drop a couple pics to help ease my tremendous disappointment...

I cook, a lot. I do all the cooking in my house but I have to admit I don't understand the "foodie" thing. Everyone eats (like the Sesame Street song) so calling yourself a foodie is like calling youself an "Airie" everybody likes to eat, some people are just really descriptive and snooty about it.
Hrmmm...I know I have pics of at LEAST one thing I've made.
Salmon Smothered in Summer.
Pan seared Salmon with Fresh Basil, Late Summer Tomatoes, Course Salt and Black Pepper, served on butter burnt brown rice.
My wife doesn't eat pig or cow, so we eat a lot of turkey and chicken...
Last night it was Turkey stroganoff (homemade, no recipe)
Turkey chops seasoned with Rosemary, Paprika, Season Salt, Red pepper then sauteed in smart balance with finely chopped onion.
When the turkey chops are cooked through cut into bite size chunks. Return turkey to pan with onions and SB add 1 can of chicken broth, simmer and reduce. When liquid is reduced to about 1 1/2 cups add 3 dollops of sour cream, increase heat to a slow boil and add more paprika and fresh ground black pepper (to taste) Stir the sour cream into the broth completely, be careful not to overheat. If the sauce is not thick enough to your liking thicken with cornstarch (mix small amount of cornstarch in just enough cold water to dissolve) simmer and stir to thicken but DO NOT overheat the sauce. Serve with peas over whole wheat egg noodles.
Tonight for dinner? Cheddar Chicken Croissants, Chicken breast strips grilled wrapped in Bacon (turkey for the wife) slathered with Sweet Baby Ray's with melted cheddar served on Croissant.

Anyone who says "Late Summer Tomatoes" more than likely takes more pride in ingredients than the average Joe. Heres your membership =)
Awesome picture!
We are pescetarian so I am always looking for a new fish recipe, I will definitely have to try this out.

Although MBK covered it pretty well, a direct analogy inspired by your good self is that pushing the shutter release on a camera does not make you a photographer. In the same way, cooking so that you have food to eat is not the same as cooking for the pleasure of the transformation and eating to get by is not the same as eating for the joy of it.

Actually....In the strictest sense of the term...a Photographer is a person who takes a picture. Now a professional photographer...thats a different thing.
I don't think of myself as a foodie, my SIL does, and she is straight up goofy about it. I cook, I take chances, I don't use recipes, I can go to the fridge look at what it contains and make a meal out of the contents, I'm utilitarian...but I know what "good" food is. My SIL "the foodie" eats like a 5 year old and will only try 2 or three selections on any given menu, and still freaks out if her food touches. I'd say she is gastrOCD, not gourmet or possessing a knowledge or appreciation for fine or even good food. She wouldn't know a chanterelle from a s**take or even a cherry stone from a soft shell let alone eat either, but yet...she is a "foodie" because she posts on food blogs and writes uninformed reviews of everything from burger joints, to bistros. Yeah so, I like food, I eat, and I try to make things interesting, and enjoy entertaining but....I'm NOT a foodie.

Well we could go round and round on the semantics of it all night (I for one would certainly never call myself a foodie, but that's because I think the word is ugly). If what your SIL does counts as being a foodie, then I'm certainly not one.
So I think then we're on the same page here, and perhaps all we need is a new name for the thread.
So long as it doesn't involve the word "gastronaut". That makes me want to punch people.
«mybrotherskeeper:That looks really, really good! Chocolate cake is my favorite, without a doubt. Does anyone have a good German chocolate cake or Tiramisu recipe? That they are willing to share that is....

Since pexy won't share his tiramisu recipe, maybe this website will help. Solely devoted to tiramisu, it surely has a recipe to suit every palate.
