I was just experimenting in the kitchen and the resulting "meal" tastes and looks like that stuff DEP keeps telling us not to eat. Pics are forthcoming after I consume the dish I'm dubbing Pure s**te.

Ok, here it is. I didn't have much in the pantry so I had to make do with what few spices and ingredients I had. I'm embarrassed to say what is included.

So.....WHAT IS IT?

I would think that including details is a given but I was wrong once before.

Here come my guesses:

Brown uncle bens rice topped with freshly squeezed baby s**t, and I think I smell a hint of lime.....

I had a craving for chili after reading doggylives thread. Only the catch was I didn't have any ingredients.

So, I made this: Organic brown rice flavored with chili powder, red pepper, and some chocolate powder.

On top is chicken and "gravy".

The "Gravy" is a whole mess-load of chocolate powder and chili seasoning. I was making a chili sauce, but I realized after I dumped a mess of chocolate that I didn't have any tomatoes. Stupid, rookie mistake.

Kitchen rule #1: don't start cooking til you know that you have all the ingredients.

There's other embarrassing ingredients I'd rather not mention. I was throwing stuff in the pot out of desperation.

Has anyone else tried quinoa?

Were you impressed or, like me, were you left rather underwhelmed?

Failing that, does anyone know why it's called "keen-wah" and not "kwin-oh-ah"?

Someone just brought me round two rabbits they'd just shot so it looks like rabbit for dinner tonight.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do with it?

I normally make a stew with rabbit but I was looking for something a bit different this time.

Rabbit kebabs.

Cut the rabbit into chunks along with some veggies (your choice, but I'd recommend onions, pepper and mushrooms), brush with oil and then roast.

I can't really give you timings on that, because I tend to cook stuff until it's done, but if memory serves, around half an hour should be good.

Perhaps a Rabbit Étouffée? The seasoning and tomato sauce would help soften the 'gamey' taste of rabbit which can be a bit overwhelming if it just fried up like chicken.

Great idea's BB and Pock.

I'm going to go with the kebab idea and some of your idea too BB.

I'm going to make the kebabs and do a baby vine tomato sauce using fresh basil, balsamic vinegar and garlic.

I'll cook the tomatoes with the balsamic vinegar, garlic and fresh basil and reduce them down until they're slightly sticky and then put that over the kebabs when they're done.

I'll let you know how it goes Moe, I'll try and get some pics too

Last night I had an amazing steak, cooked perfectly and with all the sides. Someday I may tell you all how to cook the perfect steak, but for now I want to talk about the appy I made.

Basically, take Jalapeno peppers and cut them in half, Remove all the seeds and crap. Fill each half with cream cheese and then wrap it with a strip of bacon. Put it on the BBQ for a couple of minutes (top rack works best) and serve...SO good :)

Jamie Oliver made pappardelle with rabbit on one of his recent episodes of Jamie At Home on the Food Network (US). It looked so good, we almost ate our TV screen. Since you're in the UK you might have better access to some of the ingredients he mentions. Let me know if you try it!
