Rocket is a delicious lettuce-like plant that can be harvested year
round leaf by leaf. The name comes from it's hot peppery flavour.

Have a look at Renaissance Herbs
Rocket and other salad greens are in the "Salad Suite" section.
"Leaves have aroma of peanuts and the flavour of peanuts combined with the heat of Water Cress. Young leaves have best flavour - not so hot."

Doesn't look like that worked out too well... what IS a hobo pie, if I might ask?

Here is something I threw together the other night, a twist on classic pierogies.

I pan seared them until they formed a nice crunchy outside, and seasoned with fresh cracked pepper, garlic and onion powder.

Below them are my sauted onions. They have to sauté on medium heat with olive oil and balsamic glaze (balsamic vinegar will do if you don't have the glaze) until they get nice and gooey. I add about a tablespoon of sugar to sweeten them up and intensify the caramilization.

The potato is a plain baked potato with butter garlic and some of my home made hot peppers on top.

You get this iron that is supposed to compress two pieces of bread together when you seal it, filled with whatever filling you like. You set it over the fire and let it toast. Mine was a little over cooked.

Michon--it's a baked apple pancake, from the cookbook from France!

Apples are sauteed in butter, then a thin, egg-rich pancake batter is poured over it and baked. End result is a layer of carmelized, soft apples with a layer of custard underneath, and it self-crusts, like a frittata.

Yummy...I think I'll make it again, and add some cinnamon.

My first try at making tamales. They're a lot easier to make then I thought.
These are turkey and pork.
