My aunt and I went to Ruby Tuesday's about 3 pm yesterday. Their lunch menu is on the back of the menu. We both ordered the chicken and broccoli quiche, which came with a side. She got white bean chili, I got the salad bar (which I love).

Her chili was a larger than expected portion, and I heaped my salad plate high. When our quiche got there it was huge, and came with fresh mozzarella and tomato salad. Neither one of us could finish all our food.

Since we both drank water with our meals, our total came to $18, and we got 2 meals each out of it. WOOT!

What great deal did you get recently?

Mr. Marli and I bought a 99 Honda for $200, because it needed an ignition switch and coil. Friend had the parts, Mr. Marli used to be a mechanic, and voila! Shiny used car for me to haul the kid around in.

I went to Old country buffet.. for 6 bucks each I had all u can eat steak and mashed potatoes and free refils.. and ham, and some school cafeteria fish, and some ice cream.. mmmm.. I had about 3 plates of just mashed potatoes and gravy, I love that stuff!

YAY! Don't you love it? I have a 94 Camry that I have $700 into. It needs a windshield (rock damage) but runs great and has a moonroof. It'll be our alternate car this fall unless I decide to sell it, which is what husby wants me to do.

I had the best deal ever last week, at my local corner store.

We have this restaurant Red Robin...u pay $8 and u get a burger and UNLIMITED fries :-) Mmmm. And the burgers are Huge. Great Deal. They also have this deal where u pay $25 and u get the two burger meals and two movie tickets to any Star Theatre! (the catch is the movie has to be out longer than two weekends)

More Importantly...

My local corner store was selling 32oz cans of Miller High Life for only $2 each. I thought that was a great deal, until now they sell Miller High Life 40oz bottles 2 for $4.50 That's an extra 16ounces of beer for just 50cents more! (yea i probably get way too excited about drinking beer).

I went to the water fountain and got water for free :-P

This was a long time ago, well 5 years, but my first car was free. It was Citroen vanette going to be scrapped but my dad took it. It had no radio, no panels in the doors, dodgy (As in didn't work) handbrake, terrible brakes, and it had the back of it torn out. I drove it for a few months, got good enough that he felt I wouldn't crash, he bought a little fiat, and sold the Citroen on for about 350 Euros.
My dad is a master wheeler dealer.

But was it cold and portable?
Also, there are no water fountains outside of schools in the county I live in. ;-)

Red Robin rocks, I love there freckled lemonade. Its like $3 but you get unlimited refills and they pack the cup full of fresh strawberries!! so good. And when I say unlimited, I mean unlimited. I've personally went through over 10 of them in one trip.

Being the honest citizen you are you pointed out the cashiers mistake so she didn't get in to any trouble when the till didn't add up right at the end of the day right?

Red Robin is the greatest burger joint EVER!!! And their bottomless fries is pure manna from heaven.

One thing I love about Plime is that it makes me consider things I never considered before. Sometimes, I hafta do my homework.

Oooh my lord. I loooooove their french fries...huge thick cut steak fries. That is one of my fav places to eat. I loves me the guacamole burger.

Btw, try their parmesan garlic fries. Not never ending, but joyous indeed.

Anyhoo. I went to our local fair today.

Although on a diet, I allowed myself my cravings.

On 20 bucks

8.00 admission for 2
2.00 two bottles of water at a buck a piece
3.00 small fries (me)
2.00 Corn dog
4.00 BBQ wrap for Trauma Pappa.

For a grand total of 19.00 bucks.

In a land of temptation and overpriced food, we did very well and left pretty happy as we didnt induldge too much.

Okay, I'm making it a point to try the freckled lemonade next time i go. The unlimited refills of it sounds especially enticing :-)

I mentioned elsewhere that I'd booked my flight to LA last night.

I'm flying with Virgin, and have a friend who works for them. They have an excellent benefits package that includes discounts for friends when booking flights.

I was trying to use this, but it was coming out at about £100 ($180) more than the price that was showing for regular punters. Not much of a discount.

Previously the mates rates had been coming up with £12 ($22) off.

When I went to book it last night, a week after trying I found that the regular price had dropped by £50 ($92).

£50 saving for just being a bit lazy and not doing it straight off.

Result.

I hope I have the same luck when I get around to booking our flights to the Virgin Islands for November. *crosses fingers AND toes*
