I haven't been around for a while but I wanted to jump in here and state:

Sarah Palin will be the first female Vice President of the United States and eventually the first female President of the United States.

She's going to tear Biden a new one during the debates and people are going to fall in love with her when she gets out there and starts getting interviewed by the press.

Also, she has more relevant experience at the head of a government than the three men on both tickets.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the ideal career path for President is Mayor -> Governor -> President (or VP in this case). Why? Because you actually have to make decisions and not just debate and vote on issues and law.

That is all.

I agree. I think having McCain for four years is worth getting Palin as President after that.

I agree, again. People have no clue how strong of a lady she is. You think Hillary held her own? Wait til you see Palin.

Also, she has more relevant experience at the head of a government than the three men on both tickets.

Agreed. She has more executive experience than the three others combined.

People say "She has no foreign policy experience."

Again, that's incorrect. Her state is right by Russia, and she must monitor when the Russians fly into United States airspace, even if it's accidental. She must negotiate with Canada. It's the only state in the union within 50 miles of two foreign countries.

Palin has the experience to be VP, no doubt.

Ug.

She's a trophy VP.

Brilliant political move by a struggling McCain campaign.

He and the elitist DC frat boys are simply using her because she has boobs.

I think the fact that this pregnant daughter information was released as the hurricane made landfall sort of indicates that McCain camp at least thinks it has some relevance for the campaign.

Apart from Palin being "pro-contraceptive" (which everyone but the pope and few crazies in the Bible Belt are anyway) I haven't found half an ounce of anything positive in her or her stances on any issues.

Despite having "northern perspective", she's the last person Canada needs to be in any form of power in the US.

I'm hearing alot about her approval rating...but aren't there only like 9,000-10,000 people that she's governing over? Or was that a rumor...

She's the governor of Alaska and the current population there is around 626,932.

However the moose population is around double that..... :D

Here's a scary thought. MAYBE, just maybe her being Mcains choice has more to do with her being a woman than being qualified. MAYBE this is all just a political scheme to pick up the disgruntled Hillary votes. MAYBE Mcain will die (he is 72 after all) and we will be stuck with this woman who has only been a senator for 2 years as the head of our country. I hope that the majority of voters can see that voting these two in would be disastrous for our country.

I agree that it was an attempt to get any disgruntled Hillary voters. She is essentially someone that no one has heard of...in the national spotlight I mean. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's not a good thing. Especially announcing her as his running mate 3months before the election. Clearly an attempt to capitalize off of the tension that was in the democratic party. But hey, i gotta give it to the Republican party that they had the balls to go for it, and sadly I think that they will swing some voters solely because of this tactical maneuver.

The announcement of the pregnancy might have something to do with the obscene and disgust smear attack on her, claiming that her most recent child, the one with Down Syndrome was really her daughters and she orchestrated a cover-up

It's not like she was an unknown though. I heard of her way back in early 2006. People were questioning her ability to be governor of Alaska. But guess what? Now she has an *average* approval rating of over 85%, obviously disproving the doubts about her leadership. I said, months ago, that the only way I would vote for John McCain would be if he picked Sarah Palin as his running mate. It's not as if she was a shot in the dark, as most people are assuming. She has the credentials.

When President Bush has a ~30% approval rating, Congress (Obama, Biden, and McCain) have ~11% approval rating, I think we could use someone that has an 85% approval rating in the white house.

Why do people assume that McCain will die in office?

72 years old is not that old. There actually are people these days that live into their 80's and 90's. My stepfather is 72, and to me he is far from old.

My stepfather also had skin cancer (on his face). The difference is whether they get it all when they remove it.

If he'd get elected, he'd pass United States male life expectancy during his term. So from a statistical point of view, it's not that unlikely that he'd croak in the middle of his term.

The 10 year mortality rate for basal cell skin cancer, squamous cell , and melanoma are very very different. Those number change depending on the staging of the cancer(in situ or 1-4), the location of the cancer, and the treatment.

AND 4 PRIMARY MELANONAS SIGNIFIGANLY CHANGES THE OUTCOME.
