Jax's original thread about themes at plime

Here's Maven's thread about a plime scavenger hunt

Here's suckersklub's theme week thread

And here's my thread about a weekly theme.

I recommend that we collect ideas until Friday, then go with the top one. This will give people a few days to start finding posts that match the theme.

Let the suggestions begin!!!

The Human Body

Anything anatomy, biologically related.

The possibilities are endless and it's a wide enough subject to allow for humour, interesting stuff etc.

Thanks for starting this up, Suebe.

I'm on my second book this month learning about the Tudors, so in honor of that, I nominate European history.

In order to try to drive more plimates to this-especially those that don't go to the forum, I'm going to post this on the news page.

I've no idea why it never occurred to me before, but suddenly the song Tainted Love has taken on a whole new sinister tone in my mind.

I'm sure the 11th of October has gone.. silly American dates! its 10/11/08...

And given that date, I vote you post your family (or any other) military stories of your battles in Europe to give its freedom against the first wave if oppressors, given if you family either did nothing, faught passively for freedom in Europe, or was in active service come 11/11/1918. Both my grandfathers were there... So again, I vote a theme of remembrance and thankfulness, and also a big upvote to the Royal British Legion, who support ALL troops, past and present, in everyday life.

May I make a few suggestions concerning the "guidelines" for weekly themes?

A theme should neither be (a) too vague nor (b) too specific, in order to (a) make it recognizable for the casual viewer of the news tab and (b) ensure that there's enough interesting material for an entire week. An example for too vague would be "Science" or "Space", whereas "Favorite Color" or "Naked Mole Rats" would be too specific (imho).
Topics like "The Human Body", "European History" or "Mysterious Items" sound good to me (do you notice the pattern? There is one).

A theme suggestion should not only consist of the topic itself - if you have an idea, take the time to write a few lines. Specify your topic if necessary, and explain to us why we would want to "work" with it for a week. Get us interested in it, make us curious.

Fancy Avatar Friday could be aligned with the weekly topic, either by simply copying it (rather lame, imo), or by choosing a theme that is covered by the weekly one - in that case, voting would work as it used to, but on-topic suggestions would be appreciated.

As a special bonus, someone (possibly the person who suggested the theme) might compile a record during the week in the form of a Plime article, listing the most popular posts and/or threads, maybe writing something on their own, thus creating an archive of our efforts and making use of the text section (maybe it will even get a tab of its own one day?)
