When I first joined I, I did so just to up vote something and didn't really think I would participate, (not that I really have seeing how I've been here more than a year and I'm only a level 10) so I just used my school email screen name. If I would have though about it I would have used the name I use for everything else which is mystic burrito. That name has a whole different story behind it.

My name comes from the iron maiden song "the clansman", which is about scottish clans and their fight to remain free. I have scottish heritage, and have always loved the song.

Mine isn't very complicated. I joined a christian chat room years ago. I chose jointheir, but it was taken, so I spelled it joyntheir. Some people call it joy n their. thats true too, I suppose. and it goes well with Joy OHare.

my first id - my name (TusharKapila) - made with hotmail before MS bought it.

since it was not used in 3 months and i lost it then made my name 2, that too met the same fate.

when i started to work i had steady net access - my id was my initials tgk and what i do programming - software

maybe i should change it to tgkMgr and it will reflect in my prof life too!

I could've sworn that I posted in this thread two years ago when I was more active... Oh well.

I blame my user name on W1K. I've gone through a ton of different screen names and handles throughout the years. A while back, one of my friends commented on how all of the characters I played in our DnD tabletop games were unstable. They were, since I am a bit. So I started using Unstable as a screen name (used to go by @unstable in City of Heroes, now it's @onuris because I kept getting confused with another player named Unstable Ion, which kinda amused me since Ion is one letter different than my first name. This isn't really pertinent though, so just ignore what's in these parentheses, ok?). When I went to register at W1k a few years ago, the name Unstable was taken. First thing that came to mind was Fiend (as in a demon) and I liked the sound of it. Then when Plime came about, I registered with the same name so that I would be recognized (even though I wasn't very recognizable anyway).

Skandar Graun is a hero from one of the fantasy book series I liked ages ago. He is a half-orc warrior-priest, and since the series is Dungeons and Dragons based, he has an alliance to Chaos and neutrality in the struggle of good and bad.
He mainly just tries to save his skin. Because of a series of really unfortunate events this struggle leaves a trail of dead and deformed bodies behind, all over the known universe, or at least wherever he walks to.
He is foretold to be a great hero, and the more he struggles to avoid this fate the closer he gets to it.
He and Rincewind could understand each other perfectly.
Actually Rincewind was an other possible screen name I contemplating.

A drogue is usually a conical-shaped device designed traditionally as either a sea anchor, or a method of slowing and steering a refueling hose for aircraft, and things like that. I like it because it simultaneously sounds like "drove" and "dirge."

My username is a carry over from W1K. I picked it upon entering my first photoshop contest, like a LONG time ago. I looked at my first entry and thought my masking was so bad it didn't need blur, it needed blur more. Which is a curious photoshop filter for those who just like to over do everything, like me who likes to over think, and over explain everything. It also alliterates well with my hometown Baltimore, B'more, Bodymore Murdaland. Since then, my photoshop has gotten better. My only quibble with it as a username is people who abbreviate it BM which is just wrong, and doesn't happen much anyway...until now..that I said it bothers me.

I loved going up to everyone and challenging them to contests of "What animal is this" and no one ever guessed that it was a shrimp so it quickly became my favorite word... and conveniently it worked great as an internet handle because no one else used it either.

It all started one day when I grew terribly bored. I was on the internet, trying to find something to do. I found my way to addictinggames.com and chose some random games to play. One of them was some game from the N or Noggin something along those lines. The concept of the game was to like, figure things out, teeen drama, and other stuff. [I dont remember it too much, since it was like, months since I played it last] Anyway, before you played, you would choose your name, and my name being Hayley, I used Hayley.
Once you would go visit one of your new friends, since you had just moved into the town, he would give you a nickname, always ending your chosen name with 'esque'.
I personally like the way it looked and sounded, although at first I miss-pronounced it.

I showed my love for my twin friends' hobby, which was knitting and she GLADLY taught me. A few weeks later, we were discussing knitting group names(I catch on quickly, I made the doll in my icon), and Twin #1 said 'The Shizknits!' I thought it was super catchy so it had to be mine, I've been using it ever since. I also think I'm pretty cocky(in as humorous a way as possible), so I think it's pretty fitting...

My original screen name was Mwalimu which is Swahili for teacher (I teach in East Africa...so it fits) but I got downvoted for daring to suggest that sometimes people can be wrong. I found it interesting that people can talk about having "open minds" but close it off when a Christian starts to speak...so this is all interesting to me.

SOFSR came from a bit of an inside joke between me and my friends that originated a few years back when I trolled the Neopets forum to get my account banned (Which I admit was extremely immature and stupid...Which I pretty much was back then).
I went into a thread that was basically named 'Your name: Hot or Not?', except it was in nigh incomprehensible chatspeak. I took that as my cue, and I listed my name as 'Joseph Stalin'. The rater listed my name as 'hot', to which I responded, "SCORE ONE FOR SOVIET RUSSIA!"
I started using it around my friends, and it just stuck with me all these years.
When I registered my account here, I decided against using my usual username, Genkio (from a very old character of mine), and chose to use the acronym for "Score One for Soviet Russia".

Wow, someone else uses dvorak! I changed mine just to mess with people trying to use my computer. The trick is you have to sand the letters off as well.

Anyway, Beleg-Aran is an elvish translation of my real name, Richard. Richard = great king in old english = Beleg-Aran. I'm not obsessed with the Lord of the Rings like I once was, but I like how the name sounds, so I used it.

I've used this username for 10 years or more. It actually started off as being a password for some old website I frequented, but changed it to a username (by mistake) when I signed up at Worth1000.

When my nephew was born (Dylan) I pretty much raised him until he was 2. My brother, only being 16 at the time of Dylan's birth, wanted to party and go out like young kids do. Since my brother and I still lived with my parents Dylan stayed home all the time. I got my very own play doll!!

My name starts with 'T', so tlovesd seemed appropriate.

Only now, my fiance thinks it stands for him (Dave).

I let him think what he wants. I know what it stands for. ;-)

I chose my name way back in 1998 when I first started using a computer...I did not want any ordinary name or one that did not mean a thing, so I used my imagination and came up with "onebigbooger"...lol. In 2001 found out that a sex site had stolen that one and had to change it to "bigbooger".
