I'm thinking about taking a holiday soon, maybe India

We only have ourselves to blame. Since changing the limit for posting news, where we had easily deleted spam news posts, we now have all manner of s**t in here which can be edited but not removed.

Yeh but when a new member hits the front page and there's no spam (before it gets removed) it looks a lot better.

There were times when I signed in and the front page was full of spam and I often wondered how many people passed through Plime and saw a page full of spam and moved quickly on.

I'd rather a few random spammers hit the forums and got dispatched than a s**tload of spam messing up the news tab.

Plus I'm having fun luring them into posting spam links in their comments, see above :)

But I like how some of the new people actually want to contribute and not spam, and they bring back all sorts of old threads that are interesting but everyone forgot about them. I think that this is a good side effect of changing the limit, because this way, we can actually see people who want to participate, and they don't get knocked down to -1 just because they didn't get what this place is not about. They have more time to learn and to get noticed.

A lot of the old threads that are being bumped are done so with the all too banal comment "interesting topic."

I don't see that anywhere on page 1 - any examples?

The only two I can find at short notice and yeah I guess you are right they aren't bumped threads but having read lots of Youtube comments in the past I seem to notice that nearly all spam on there starts along the lines of "interesting comments/video" followed by a link to a ringtone site or some rubbish.

Any perticular reason you quoted this?

Which I think is spam. They seem to think that just posting will get votes, so, more posts, more votes.
