Jax - can we get this linked or moved before it drops too far in the forum and people cannot find it?

What kinds of things should I post? What you post is entirely at your discretion. However, links to offensive, pornographic and like material is frowned upon and will most likely be down-voted or deleted. Links to personal web pages or blogs are frowned upon and will be down-voted. Do not take it personally if your link to your website/blog was down-voted. What you should post are interesting, funny, or otherwise entertaining links. This will not only help the community but will most likely be up-voted helping your overall standing.

Due to the problem we are currently having I have revised this FAQ.

Great job on this guys. Looking good so far.

A question suggestion:
How and when should I add a category to the plime tree?

Actually, we need a whole section in the FAQ about changing and creating categories. Proper procedure (wiki-style consensus and all that rot), and how to add it. We need procedure on deleting categories as well.

I know this stuff isn't as imperative as the more basic questions, but it would be nice to have so the higher-level users are all on the same page.

Can I shoot a man in Reno just to watch him die? No.

How and when should I add a category to the plime tree? Sub categories can be added once a user has reached level 5 (Some categories might be different.) Once you have approval from the Plime community via the forums. You can add a sub-category by going to the category you want to change. Click on the settings tab. Click add new sub-category and fill in the box. To edit this category you must go to it's setting box once it has been created.

I'm a new user. Where should I start? As a new user you probably don't understand the workings of the site yet. I would suggest sitting back at first and watching how the site works. As a new user be careful what you say or post to not attract negative votes. Excessive negative votes as a new user can cause you to be banned from the site. This is in place to ween out the spammers and trolls it's nothing against you unless you are a spammer or troll.

As requested...
What is pruning? When a link is found to have broken the rules (see posting to your blog/website), duplicated a recent post, is uninteresting, or offensive. The community will vote this post down. Once voted down by several members of the community it will be moved to the deleted page.

« donteatpoop : How do I submit a link? Click on the green rectangle on the main Plime page, it reads "Submit Link".
I don't think it should say green rectangle, as that may change right? Just have it as the rectangle that says submit link.

I have updated/changed my profile picture, but it is not displaying next to my posts. What am I doing wrong?

When you change your profile picture, it does not change on posts and links you made before adding the picture. Everything you post from now on will include the avatar.

I've wondered that in the past as well. It doesn't seem to be in alpha order, but I assume there's some kind of determining factor.

Due to the new experimental rule I have added this!

I'm a new user why can't I post? At plime we have a user level restriction in place. Before you can post you must first involve yourself in the community by commenting on active posts or forum threads. Once the community has raised your user level to 2 you are free to post within the guidlines of the site.
