went to wonderfest. left home nearly two and a half hours later than scheduled. drive took longer than estimated by google. after following google's instructions to look for a off-ramp that doesn't actually exist, i got us (me and my chouffer) lost in louiville. when we finally got to wonderfest, we had missed out on all of the guest lectures for the day, which was the main reason why we were there.
bought our way in anyways ... watched a bit of "IT! the terror from space!" would have been interesting, but these couple of guys with microphones pretending to be on mystery science theature 3000 but not funny or legible, so i cut out and caught the last bit of an airbrushing demo. then mulled about at the dealer halls until wonderfest ended. went out for chinese food, then went home. we got a speeding ticket.
overall ... it wasn't worth going. i spent about 120 dollars and 11 hours for a 30 dollar-worth experience. i regret not deciding, "screw this" before buying into wonderfest, and just cut across the street to the kentucky amusement park. i still wouldn't have learned anything like i hoped i would from wonderfest, if i hadn't missed the guest lectures, but i'd have more fun at the amusement park, than the time spent looking at models with varying levels of competency and novelty items i can't afford.
had a better experience last year. i'm not looking forward to next year.
