« bingo : I'm a butter snob. I can't stand margarine.
Ditto. Stick butter for me, please. And maybe some "spready butter" for grilled cheese sammiches (so as not to murder the bread).

« Kendar : Customers grab bags before I can ask them if they want one. They go to swipe their card before I can even say hello to them. It just bugs me. I had one guy reach over the counter and grab his receipt out of the machine.
Ooooooh! I see, by 'grabby' I though you meant grabbing you. That makes sense then.

More so than just not liking margarine, I only buy certain grades of butter, and never buy salted butter.

And...making my own is looking better and better.

I'm also a yogurt snob. I'm not fussy about frozen kinds, but for just a cup of yogurt, it's Greek yogurt all the way.

Ooooooooh, making your OWN butter?!? Do tell...

Simple. :D

Buy cream.

Put cream in a small container. I used a rubbermaid container, Hubbin opined that something cylinder shaped would be better.

Shake. Gently, doesn't have to be energetic. After about 10 minutes, you'll notice solids, within about 15 minutes, you have butter.

(Blame Badbud and soreen, not me.)

hmm. gotta try that!

I'm an ingredients snob too.

but. I must say that after having my own back yard chickens for quite a few years, I can NOT tell the difference between my own BY eggs and store bought grade A.

by all accounts, don't get cream that's ultra-pasteurized, but it really is that simple.

food.

I spend a ridiculous amount on food. I expect my fruits and veggies to be organic and the freshest you can buy. I only buy high quality cuts of meat. I take my cheese waaaaay too seriously. Wine is another one, and yes I feel that wine fits under food. I actually have separate stores I go to for fruits/veggies, meat, cheese, wine, fresh pasta, and baking supplies...wow, I never realized how ridiculous this was until now. I think I have a problem.

There could be a whole list of stuff here but then I thought I'd simplify it.

Anything I consume.

Everything I consume.

There's other stuff too, but I think that's a broad enough spectrum for now.

I'm fairly snob about what I buy already, but if I have to pick products that stand out:

Toothpaste
Coffee
Coffee
Coca Cola (NOTHING else that pretends to be coke)
Butter/Margarine
Chips (Crisps for the Brits)
Wine
Coffee

HUMMUS: It has to be smooth, made with garbonzos, quality tahini... none of that Tribe junk. I want authentic, Israeli or Israli-like hummus. Anything else is a waste of good tahini

Jeans: I will try on multiple pairs of the same size in order to make sure I get a cut that is right for me. I hate it when jeans don't fit correctly; they look horrid!

Pet Supplies: I absolutely will NOT buy from a pet store that sells dogs and cats. It's like supporting mills plus there are so many orphaned pets out there... I strongly advocate adoption

Music - although I have a pretty wide variety of genre's that I like, I have certain musicians I consider s**t, and hearing them make thier noise annoys me without end

Movies - movies I watch must have something more to them than the standard action blockbuster bulls**t, and I hate watching movies on tv commercials in the middle of my watching experience and censoring....and I hate it when people ask questions about movies either in middle of watching the film or just wandering in after it has begun..they should fend for themselves...

and I also feel like I spent to much money on a DVD if it is over $5 unless it is already established as being high quality

Tea - I hate drinking artificial mix teas or the Wawa style high fructose corn syrup teas....I only want tea that comes for tea leaves.
