The answer is actually The Garden by John Foxx. John Foxx used to be in Ultravox! until he pursued his solo career. This is his second album follwing Metamatic

No s**t? I still don't know who those guys are, but I'll assume they aren't super obscure since two of you seem to know about them.

That's a point for you then, Makuus. You get to post the next cover.

I haven't heard of 90% of these bands.....either I'm too old or people aren't following the rules!

The Hollies and The Garden seem pretty obscure to me. I don't know though... Might just be a genre I never bothered getting into. 19 and Newton Faulkner too, I have no idea who they are. I'll be researching them to see if they play good music, but they seem kind of obscure to me.

Oh well, it appears I have to revoke a point from Makuus since that's the Hollies not The Garden... (it'll just be edited into the tally above)

I won't debate the Garden or the Hollies because I haven't heard of them and they just might be fairly well known, but The The is kind of obscure. I know who they are, but they never really had any radio hits that would have drawn attention to them. They're an all right band, kind of a country twang indie rock thing if I recall correctly, but there's no way that even one in four people know who they are.

I haven't put anything from Pavement or The Screaming Trees or even Soul Coughing for these reason alone (although Soul Coughing might have a case... But it's too borderline)

Make sure that you are picking albums that most people have probably heard of. Or even half of the people have heard of. Using your best judgement, of course.

Future infractions will result in loss of points. This clarification is being added to the opening post.

KXMX (where the hell have you been), I can't give you that point because you never added a new album cover for other people to guess. Next time please remember to do so.

Aaaaand, just to get the thread moving again:

(by the way, I discovered that the words "an album", if not spaced correctly, could be read as "anal bum"... Which inceidentally would be a pretty cool band name)

I don't think you're too old. Maybe just not into the 'legal music business' enough.

I have absolutely no idea about 95% of these. I just hope to pop in here and see something I recognise.

Ultravox who did The Garden were very big in the UK in the 80's. The hollies sang the song "the air that I breathe" and were also quite big but a long long time ago.

Adele who recorded the album 19 was one of the UKs biggest artists last year.

Newton Faulkner is a strange sort of crusty hippy type who is relatively well known in the UK.

PS Animal Rights by Moby

This is turning out to be more difficult to post a cover than it is to guess them. I have such a wide and eclectic range of music and tend to forget that just because I like a band doesn't mean that anyone else will have heard of them.

I didn't post one because another had already been posted and I wasn't sure how that was going to play out. Let the game continue with that one...no sweat on the point loss. ;-)

I've been checking in off an on with Plime...just not much time to participate usually.

( ^ This is a really hard one, and kind of tricky, too, but I trust in Pock's Friday afternoon boredom. Feel free to skip anyway.)
