There are threads for "what made you smile?" "Let it out" and "it doesn't need a thread", but there isn't one for what made you sad.

This can be for anything that you experience that makes you sad, even for a fleeting moment.

Mine today was a message from TM. Not intentional from her but just made me realize how much I miss my heart dog and members of my family that have passed. Memories of all of them, although sometimes Joyous, can bring sad feelings also.

Didn't mean to be a downer but I think we all have these moments.

I'll start.

Tonight I was driving down a major thoroughfare where I live and along side the road there was a bicyclist. He had all his personal belongings strapped to this bike in bags. On the back of the seat was a sign that read "Hungry, Please Help".

I know this is everywhere, but you never see it in the general area where I live.

Uh, no I did not. I thought about it. But I was in 6 lane traffic, far left lane, on my way to drop off my Pathfinder at the body shop for an estimate for the damage I caused side swiping my mailbox.

I wont' go on to explain at length, but I have friends who are having a hard time financially. And I've helped them with groceries, food for their pets etc. I can't help everyone. :( I'm doing what I can for the people "in" my life. If there's anything left over, I will certainly do for those I don't know.

How 'bout you?

We just heard that the elderly mother of close family friends died tonight.

I sat next to her in church on Sunday. She was smiley and vital and generally happy.

Now her family is in mourning and my parents went to comfort our friends...

We saw a dead squirrel with a ribbon tangled up around him, there was a big bloody spot in the grass so we don't he was strangled by it but, the ribbon probably messed up its footing and it fell out of the tree. There were flies and maggots and stuff around it when it was still twitching, and later it was gone. It was probably dragged of by a fox or something.

I don't normally like squirrels, but seeing this one in this condition because of careless people, it was kinda sad. =[

Mom just told me that my sister hasn't been eating and that she's weighing 90 lbs. For some reason she's not taking her anti-nausea meds and refuses to take the steroids that open her appetite. Last weekend she was unable to get chemo because her blood levels are low.
I'm headed towards Miami next week to regulate. If I have to smack her into eating I will.

I am missing my aunt and grandmother terribly. My aunts death seems to have hit me harder. Perhaps because it was so soon on the heels of my grandmothers passing. I have no idea.

Every time I needed her to help me, she was there. For moral support, to watch Stitch when Stitch was struggling to live and was 2.2 pounds and flown in a cargo hold in February and not even weaned from her mother and was 4 wks old.

My aunt had my back.

I lost my best friend. She was funny as hell.

When I needed to b***h, she was there. If I wanted to go to lunch somewhere, I called her up.

She was at every event in my life. Graduations, birthdays, holidays, when we camped, everything. I look at pictures and it is like "Where's Waldo?" If Donna was in a pic, so was Doris. We were inseperable.

I don't know why this pain has surfaced all of a sudden, but it it becoming unbearable and I don't know what to do about it.

My daughters shower is this weekend for the baby and she won't be there.

I don't know how to move past this. I realize she is out of pain and her last year with chemo was awful. I actually lost her the minute she started treatment.

Every nite I pray for my peace to come with all this. Ugh.

Have you thought of keeping a journal, TM..a place you can go to 'talk' to your aunt, to tangibly express your thoughts and feelings so they aren't staying bottled up inside? I know that grief is a very personal thing but writing can be so therapeutic.

Finding out that my mom's 18 year old cat, Honey, had to be put down the other day. I saw her on Saturday and she could barely walk without leaning on the walls. She was a sweetie that my mom rescued from the streets.

There were two robberies within 4 houses of us over the weekend. One was 3 houses over in our court, and the family slept through it. The family 4 houses over live just outside our court and just moved in a few weeks ago. No one was hurt thank goodness, but our sense of security has definitely been shaken.
