As some of you may remember, I work in a juvy. Many times I have to deal with children who take great pleasure in instigating and irritating other people. I tell the kids that when someone tries to push your buttons you have a choice to make....

Choice 1: Let them push your buttons

Choice 2: Don't let them push your buttons

Allowing a mean person to push your buttons is giving them the gift they most want. It makes them happy. It makes them feel like they are powerful. It brings them some sad sense of pleasure.

Good honest discussion with differing opinions are great, they sharpen the mind. But whenever I sense that someone has bad intentions I disengage from the conversation. I have no desire to have mean spirited people in my life and I am not willing to yield any of my peace to them.

Hi everybody. Pliming via Crackberry to say we had a Plime-meet tonight and it was awesome! 5 states and England were represented by the 7 plimates who attended. Just goes to show you everybody can get along. Watch for Suebe's pic thread tomorrow.
