I returned to my office to discover someone placed a flyer for a church event on my desk. It's for some sort of 'keep the passion alive in your marriage' thing.

Not ok. Really, not ok. I'm not even sure it's legal, but either way, I'm uncomfortable. First, because even discussing religion (and politics/controversial issues) at work is strongly discouraged. Second, we're government contractors, which means we have to follow the same rules as a government agency.

Third, the person who left it is a convicted sex offender. Sex with a minor, within the past 10 years, and he's in his 40's.

I don't think that this would be enough to get him fired. In terms of church attendance, I'm in the definite minority and if I were to make a fuss about a flyer being left on my desk, I can promise you it would be seen as an overreaction on my part.
