Strange things are afoot...

I have both sliding glass doors open in an attempt to keep the house cool. Maggie was sitting at one of the doors, as she often does.

I did not hear anything, but something startled her, and she leaped on to a chair, on to the table, FLIPPED over the counter, and landed in the kitchen, hackles raised, tail poufed. She wouldn't let me near her, and fled the room when I tried.

That was 5 minutes ago, and she's just starting to sneak back in to the living room, glowering at everything, and flinching when something flutters in the breeze.

Crazed cat.

Maybe she saw an armadillo. Or a vampire.

Nope, nothing different at all. She was perfectly normal before...well, as close to normal as she gets. Despite her tendency to hiss inappropriately, I've never seen her pouf out like this. She's still pretty nervous.

There is a Terminator on the premises. Get out as soon as possible. Do not stop for anything.

Um wait. OK be sure to take your cookie recipes. But after that, do no stop for anything.

I just realized that I've been away from home for almost a month and left the passenger door on my truck unlocked the entire time.

I like living in a safe town.

A safe, very, very, very snowy place, that is.

Heh. A boss of mine in Wyoming went to Mexico with her husband. They flaked, forgot to close the trunk on their car, left it parked right in front of the airport (no-parking zone) completely unlocked, keys in the ignition.

Came back a week later, someone had moved the car to long term parking and put the keys at the lost and found in the airport.
