There are a few issues that I have with general forum behavior that doesn't fall into the general trolling or flaming behavior sets per se. These very well could, but mostly are just irritating and unproductive in general conversation. Here is one rule:
(1.) Thou shalt not use the words, "Did you even read the article?" or anything similar.
-Instead say, "In the article it says this..."
Downvotes from the almighty karma god to those who disobey this rule.
Anyone have any additions (whether they are humorous or personal irritants)?
(2.) Thou shalt make sure your thread title is at least somewhat descriptive.
Titles like "WTF?!!", "This is hilarious", "I don't get it", "it's about time" etc. seriously suck. That is, if they're meant to refer to a particular topic. Of course it's totally OK to start threads about personal WTF moments, various hilarious things, incomprehensible phenomena, or overdue issues, but even then the thread title should at least hint at that:
e.g. "Your personal WTF moments" "Hilarious Stuff Here!" "Stuff you simply don't understand, no matter how hard you try" "It's about time! (issues that need fixing ASAP)"
If your thread is simply about a single incident, question, or minor problem, instead of inviting to start a discussion, it's unlikely to need a thread of its own, really. There's all sorts of threads already for pretty much everything: random musings, funnies, geeky stuff, plime bugs - even router issues and the occasional image upload bug (believe it or not).
Also, there are also categories in the forums. Please use them.
Plime is an editable wiki community where users can add and edit weird and interesting links. Users earn karma when other users vote on their actions. The more karma you have, the more power you have at Plime.
(4.) Thou shalt not copy and paste the article you are linking to and post it as a description.
This is just lazy and it looks terrible. I can't stand reading "def aegleg gb ruib r gr th h aw aerhht th ae arvr bt t e erhjyj t ta a gr gr th a hbthj j vse vh shjyj yutuj aw hjy7ei erafv jyjetasekio9 sr hh rae h ty jh ae jk h tyj ah t hg trhgra ah erha eth rh" as the description and finding that the article opens up by saying "def aegleg gb ruib r gr th h aw aerhht th ae arvr bt t e erhjyj t ta a gr gr th a hbthj j vse vh shjyj yutuj aw hjy7ei erafv jyjetasekio9 sr hh rae h ty jh ae jk h tyj ah t hg trhgra ah erha eth rh"
If you can't come up with something, paraphrase. Please. For the love of God, please.
(7.) Thou shalt not downvote in vain. It's a liberal site, which means everyone is allowed their opinion. Apart from spammers. If you don't like the article or comment - post a response to it. It's always better to voice your opinion.
translated... don't take everything you see in the forums and threads so seriously. Nothing here will alter the flow of time and space. Your life will go on - just roll with it!

I upvote this x 1,000,000!
(10.)Thou Shall Respect All Opinions On Plime. All words (apart from spam) stand as a persons opinion, and if you don't agree, it doesn't make their opinion any less valid
Suggestion Thou can repeat your self once in forum tab, what you said in the news OR video tab or image tabs. To bring attention to something that would not be seen by most, because you posted 10 hours after the original entry, so few are going to read after you.
---
and its ok to repeat these rules in 5 places - when we have a FAQ, other threads that talk about this?
Looks away for a few hours - so can ignore the glares and/ or downvotes.
