My kids and hubby are having trouble coming up with workable ideas for costumes. They don't like to repeat anything they have been before, and they like to be original. But they don't like the ideas I've been coming up with. Any good costume ideas for an 11-year-old boy, a 15-year-old girl, and a 41-year-old bald man? Yes, they all still love to dress up for Halloween!
What, if anything, are you and yours dressing up as?
I'm going as the Green Fairy. I have the wings and I'm in the process of making a tulle skirt. Really all I need to do still is buy a few small bottles of absinthe and some makeup.

«RowanGrey : I went shopping for a costume today. We'll be in Disneyland on Halloween night, so I have to be careful what I choose. This one is in my top three:
You're going as a little white square? Cool costume!
I just decided that I want to be a volcano for halloween! a brown halter dress, orange fishnets both for a shirt and stockings, orange feathers and ribbons and shiny s**t in my hair and orange eye makeup!
I don't know... I could be a pirate, but everyone goes as a pirate. I could be a witch. (I love an excuse to wear my cloak.) I am really considering going as a roller derby chick. Or... ? Any ideas?
My SIL says she's going to dress up as Kanye West, and jump out at the trick-or-treaters before they can knock and say "Imma let you finish, but I just gotta say, Christmas is the best holiday ever!"
I grew up in a college town, and one Halloween our doorbell rang and we opened the door expecting to see trickortreater—but what was in front of our open door—was another door! Like, a full-on wooden door, that had a sign that said “Please knock.” So we did, and the door swung open to reveal a bunch of college dudes dressed as really old grandmothers, curlers in their hair, etc, who proceeded to coo over our “costumes” and tell us we were “such cute trick or treaters!” One even pinched my cheek. Then THEY gave US candy, closed their door, picked it up and walked to the next house. MLIA
A few years ago my dept. at work (graphic designers) dressed up as cats and I made a Kitty Litter Cake.
It was a hit. We had people from all over the building wandering in to check out the cake because someone else had seen it and told them to come and look.
Some people actually wouldn't eat it when we starting serving in the afternoon. It was quite tasty though. I used a spice cake plus the white cake. Of course one guy in our department, just to gross out the ones that wouldn't eat it, asked specifically for one of the "kitty crunchies".
