it's been pointed out before that the how to increase levels thread is at its limit, but the thread still exists and people are still posting in it. i know it's meant to be a spammer trap but every so often we get people in there who don't appear to be spammers and aren't familiar enough with the site to know they should attempt to introduce themselves elsewhere and gain karma.

is there a reason we haven't made them a new 'gain levels' thread to post in? i feel like it's sorta mean to automatically route someone to an open thread and then tell them they aren't allowed to post there...

It's not up to us to make those changes since we can't actually change where new users are directed to, that's up to the people behind the curtain. So unless Jax or one of the people that manages Plime changes it, we're stuck with this "spamtrap" :P Sorry, I couldn't help myself, the pun was too easy.

I PMed him a while ago, suggesting he change it. I know several others have too. Thus far, nothing has happened.
