Cheaters Do Prosper - At Least In GTA
Cheaters Do Prosper - At Least In GTA
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the best-selling videogame in the US. How many have actually beaten the game? How many have even gotten past the first few hours of missions?

Many - perhaps most - don't even try and use various cheat codes. picked by 2manyusernames 4 months ago

I definitely got burnt out on GTA: Vice City long before finishing the game. But I was doing crap loads of unnecessary side missions.

We enjoy the cheats.

We turn everyone pink, or into clowns. We spawn choppers and fighter jets and see how many stars we can get.

I enjoy the super punches too. I love to watch my son play with the cheats!!

Can't say we beat it, though.

I always got to the point of having to do certain races in a specific car to advance the story line. I got tired of making a stupid mistake and having to wander around the city to find a replacement to the car I just drove off a small well concealed bridge.

I never got close to beating that game, I beat Vice city though, I probably would work my way through the game if I owned it.

I gave up in San Andreas because of those d@mn flying school challenges. I would like to meet the dev who thought up that part of the game.

Ah yes, my new favorite game. It combines elements of every game I ever got addicted to and put them all together. I have the Crazy Tazi element where I can drive like a madman, mowing down pedestrians and knocking down streetlights and fences, with no regard to any property damage or auto liability. I can take any array of weapons, including sniper rifles, and pop people's heads right off. One of my favorite tricks is to stand in front of a car and simply shoot the driver in the head, cracking the windshield and making a headless body fall out of the door. I can fly too making this a fun flight simulator of sorts, and now I can skydive and basejump too! Or do a combination of these things like jumping a motorcycle off the highest building in Los Santos, bailing from it, and landing with a parachute!
You could play this game every day for a year and still never see everything in it. That's why I love it.

I beat the game after realizing I could steal tanks and save them for missions. Gang members stood no chance against my heavy ordinance.

I enjoy breaking into the airport while killing as many cops as possible, flying off and evading them, then either a) flying as high as I can and bailing out or b) flying to the top of the tall building downtown and jumping off. I've beaten it with tons of cheats but, without them, I usually end up going on a murderous rampage. lol

I completed the game with a whole complement of cheats, and about 26 billion in the ban account. Now I just like to stick it on multiplayer, run around with my mates beating up people with a giant dildo

(there's one in every cop shower!)

That was the end of me as well. Frustratingly difficult. I hope they keep these to a minimum in GTA4.

GTA one and two were both really good single player games, but 2-d, you could play alot and still have fun in those without cheats. GTA 3 and Vice City were both good games and I pretty much beat them without cheats, but San Andreas was such a weird change. There was no possible way to beat that game with out cheating, no one ate and worked out all the time. It was a game with too much going on, thats why I lost interest in it.

*cough* I downloaded a save file with 100% completion. I NEEDED that airstrip. *cough*
I always loved the cheats in the GTA games. For San Andreas, flying cars and super jump/bike jump were the best. I used to hop off the tallest building in the game on a bike and get off it in mid air. I actually killed a few people by landing my corpse on them.(Me and one of my friends pretty much had competitions on abusrd ways to kill ourselves...Jack Thompson would be drooling if he read this.)
I missed the 'change character' cheat, though, even if it did crash my game a lot. You can't beat being a shopping bag lady with uzi.

I actually got 100% completion without using cheat codes. I did however use maps to find secret items and the locations of special Jumps. I had several games going at once.

I had one with only cab missions. one with cheats.
I liked the game a lot because it had so mush different stuff going on but I haven't touched it in over a year.
