A map drawn in 1513 shows in great detail the coastline of Antarctica. The ice sheet on Antarctica is said to be over 1 million years old. How was this map ever generated so long ago?

... because the Antarctic part of the map is most likely fanciful. Like on most of the maps from that time period. Have you looked at the map and an actual modern plot of the Antarctic coast below the ice?
A good book on this subject is "The Island of Lost Maps" - gives a lot of insight into the early mapmakers.

Yeah I really believe that email was from some Lt. Col. in the Air Force. He signs as "USAF Commander"? Commander of what? The 557th Squadron? The whole Air Force?
