I was curious if any other plimates were in or have had a relationship with someone outside their own race?

My wife was born and raised in Mexico and I was born and raised in Illinois, I'm also caucasian. Needless to say there are many cultural differences that we work through. We do the best we can to find common ground when we disagree.

Im Scottish and my good lady is English. I know that may not seem like much but as a race us Scots have been oppressed by the English for hundreds of years. And they talk funny.

There are a few cultural differences and believe it or not some language differences (even though we both speak English) but to be fair I've never known anyone like her and wouldn't have anyone else.

I'm Texan and my wife isn't. (although she's been here long enough to change her citizenship)

Can't get any more interracial than that.

I used to date a Puerto Rican. I'm white. When I broke up with him, he said it's because I was racist. Nevermind the 16 months we were together.

I didn't do anything. In fact, one of the reason we broke up was because he let his race be an excuse for everything. He got fired because his boss was racist, not because he went to work drunk. He lost a scholarship to college because the school was racist, not because he failed three classes in one semester (by the way, it was a minority scholarship). When he would scream drunken obscenities to the people in the next car, they avoided his eye because they were racist. Honestly, he was responsible for nothing in his life.

Between that and his drinking, I knew I couldn't last, so I ended things. And now I'm a racist apparently.

I have a close friend who's white, her husband is Columbian. It sounds like you could have been dating her BIL, who was recently deported.

No your not racist he just had a problem its good you got out though. That is one thing I love about my wife she has never accused anyone of being a racist. She's never had to because the people who are racists will give themselves away by commenting on her race.

I would like to apologize on his behalf. Not all of us are retarded like he was/is.

No need to apologize. I know better than to judge a race of people based on my experience with one of them.

Actually, all of my relationships have been interracial. I'm dating a white girl right now, and I dated a white girl before her. the last two girls I dated before that were black, and my first girlfriend was hispanic and white, I think...she was a mix.

I don't.

(I'm kidding)

Although after attending an all-native school, I'm pretty weary of American Indians. The bad has seriously outweighed the good in my experiences and observations.

As far as relationships go.. Zach and I are both USoAins and were raised as such. And it's kinda eerie.. I've never been friends with anyone who was raised so much like I was until I came across him. (The irony is that we were both raised by super-Christians. His dad was a pastor, my dad was almost a pastor. And despite that religion-saturated upbringing, we turned out as we are [I'm glad]).

I'm going to go to bed now.

That is one thing my wife and I stumble on occasionally, her super strict catholic upbringing.

I have only had one relationship with a caucasian and that was when I was 16. (back when dinosaurs walked the earth)

I have dated women of many different races.

Growing up in Hawaii has a lot to do with that. I forget the exact figures, but most states in America have inter-racial marriage percentages of around 1 or 2%. Hawaii has something like 40%.

I have always been more attracted to ethnic women, women other than pure white. Even Jessica Alba does nothing for me after she went blond.

Blacks, Asians, Hispanics, Middle-Easteners, Pacific Islanders and various combinations thereof have made up my relationships.

I was in a relationship for a while with someone outside my race. Never seemed and issue between us, although we did get 'noticed' a lot, especially when we were in the south. although that could have also been because of t he 16 year age difference between us.

I had a 26 year relationship with a Yankee fan from NJ. It was especially challenging in 2000 when the Mets played the Yankees in the World Series. The NJ part was difficult enough.
