I have been pleading for something more effective than Vicodin for years. (Luckily, my husband receives hydrocodone for his back pain, and he's willing to share!)

Constant unrelieved pain can lead to serious depression, requiring SSRI's and similar meds to relieve that.

Fibro also causes (and is exacerbated by) disrupted sleep cycles. Many people with fibro and CFS take sleep aids of many types.

Most people on fibro take a HUGE variety of drugs, prescription, OTC, off-label, herbal, legal, illegal. And most of us are amazed that we haven't just died. I personally take 8 prescribed pills, 8 doctor recommended vitamin pills, and from 2 to 10 pain relief pills EVERY DAY! Plus I'm considering getting my medical marijuana card. I am extremely careful to not only inform all of my doctors of all of my pills and vitamins, but I also research on my own for any possible interactions, including how foods may affect my regimen.

And I am considered lightly medicated!

Others with fibro not only take tons of meds, we have to switch from non-effective meds to new ones, so we can have many variations in blood chemistry. I don't hear of any drug overdoses and deaths in my travels through the forums.

It's really weird, and still very sad.
<score></score><crdate>2/6/2008 3:09:10 PM</crdate><rssdate></rssdate><atomdate>2008-02-06T15:09:10+01:00</atomdate></comment><comment>

ReBoot @ 2/6/2008 1:44:51 PM

They'll make up their minds eventually.
