FTA:Mother says he "spits out" fruit and vegetables.
andConnor McCreaddie's mother says her 196-pound (89-kilogram) son will not eat healthy food like fruits and vegetables and had rejected a suggestion that she put a lock on the fridge.
Sounds to me that this kid doesn't have an eating problem. It's more like he has a discipline problem and that the problem stems from the fact that his mother DOES neglect him.
I'd be willing to bet that she doesn't make him meals as she should. Instead she just hands him a bag of chips and says, "Here honey"...

I have to agree. It's such a story here though. I was sitting in the lunchroom at uni today, and it was simultaneously on 2 TVs on 2 different stations.

. . . because Mom clearly knows what she's doing. Sigh.
Maybe we should just feed him to starving kids in Africa. Balance out the universe.

He rejected her suggestion!?!?!?!
What has the world come to when parents have to ask permission from their children to keep them healthy.

He refuses to eat the 'healthy food' because he knows if he refuses it he'll get junk food! Don't give him a choice, it's 'healthy food' or nothing!!
(I say 'healthy food' because I believe most foods are good in moderation)

What has the world come to when parents have to ask permission from their children to keep them healthy. I think that this paragraph was poorly written. I had the same reaction until I read it in a different way.
Connor McCreaddie's mother says... [omit clause] and [she] had rejected a suggestion that she put a lock on the fridge.
I'm not sure which way the author meant it to read but in the first case it might be assumed that the lock suggestion came up as part of a diet plan that the two were working on. In the second case, the mother might have been rejecting a suggestion from a third party.
If it was the first, I agree with you...

I thought that dumbn00b was just adding another example to highlight the stupidity of such situations. Sorta like, "Hey that's nothing, it can get even more outrageous"... Right dumb?
