You mean it wasn't true? They made it up? My world is now shattered? I really liked, "That there McDonalds, eh." too!

I'm calling bulls**t on those ones, too. Maybe they advertised with those in one corner of Canada, but I don't remember seeing or hearing them. I'm not a McDonald's fan, but I know I'd remember No Syrup? Anything.

Also, I had thought that as a community we agreed that wikipedia sites weren't supposed to be posted?

I remember the You deserve a break today jingle.

We substituted the words:
"You deserve a break today
to throw-up and crawl away
from McDonalds."

I too thought Wikipedia was not to be posted as news. A double standard, maybe?

Oh, I had no idea. I was searching for a list of McDonald's slogans (since they change them often) and I found the list to be humorous and wanted to share. Had it been another site, I would have posted the other site.

But I really didn't know that we frown upon Wikipedia links. I rarely visit the news section - mostly when there's not much activity in the forum.

Hardly.

I don't come to the news section much. The majority of the votes that got me to level 27 were from forum posts, not from the news section. I don't know all the rules everyone has made for the news section.

I don't hold myself to a different standard than I do anyone else. I don't spam, I search before I post (on the rare occasions that I do post), and I link to SFW things. I didn't know Wikipedia was a no-no.

I have no idea. My fiance and I tried to figure it out for a while. We tried emphasizing different words and we tried different accents and noting made sense. It must be a New Zealand thing.

The Canadian ones are bs, and I don't think the Indian one is true either.

They don't serve beef in India, only lamb.

Canada's slogans have been virtually the same as the ones from the U.S.

Why was this comment downvoted!?

A think a simple question was implied here. It was upvoted by a 25 karma member and a 27 karma member and now sits at 6 karma. That's 46 points worth of downvotes. What gives, eh?

Edit: I upvoted to return some points.

I was the 25 upvoter!

I don't know who downvoted. I don't see why, either.

I thought his (or hers) was a valid question.

If anything, downvoting that just reinstates any idea of an "elitist club" or double standards.

It's Wikipedia. I'd trust Fox News before I'd trust Wikipedia, which is one of the reasons I thought the community was against posting from it.

http://www.mcdonalds.ca/en/aboutus/marketing_themes.aspx

This is McDonald's official list off the Canadian website. No mention of syrup.

I honestly have never heard that. When it comes to the news section, I'm really like a level 6 or something. I really hardly ever visit this part of Plime.

I'm pretty sure (running on a hunch) that tucker is slang for food. Kinda like "grub", if you know what I mean?

I'm Texan; this information is not coming straight from me, but I've had several camp counselors from New Zealand...I'm thinking I heard it there.

I also have "Put a smile on, put a smile on, everybody come on! Put a Smile on!" stuck in my head now.

Tucker is just a Kiwi term for food! And an Aussie one too as well

I downvote any implication of a "double standard". The initial part of the comment was fine, but the "maybe a double standard?" was worthy of the down arrow.

I also downvote any comment that contains questions about downvotes. Downvotes cause drama because we allow them to cause drama. Embrace the downvote. Every downvote doesn't diserve a discussion. And a downvote doesn't mean you aren't liked.

True to my word, I have even downvoted this comment because of the inclusion of the discussion on downvotes.
