One of the best things about a free market is that if the "big old mean and evil" corporations do something that customers don't like, another company will pop up offering exactly what users would like.

It will become so popular that the evil corporations will change, or go out of business. We've got nothing to worry about except the government reaching it's ever extending hand over stuff it shouldn't be involved in.

Now that would make the battle interesting - if Google were to block access to any of their tools to ISPs that carry out acts that infringe on NN.

How long would you stay with an ISP that would let you access Google.

Damn, Google could be really scary if they decided to be so.

Not really - there are several instances where they have fought (and won) against governments who have tried to get them to hand over information they have.

At the moment, they're quite well behaved.

Of course, that could change in time.

If you want to protect yourself from Google finding things out about you, try this

The bill is a rework of the one that failed in 2006. Interesting perspective on it here although I can't claim to understand all of the jargon in the comments and linked articles.

(But I certainly do enjoy the Comcast-bashing. Just dumped them!)
