Ghost and Goblins for the NES is the hardest game ever, I have never heard of anyone beating it, I cheated my way through the game on an emulator (and it was still nearly impossible) when I finally beat the last boss, I was forced back to the beginning to find a key or something....that was after hours and hours of playing using saves. On a Nintendo you would have to play through the game in one sitting, and this would be a guaranteed long sitting.....

but that game is pretty fun too..

Tic-Tac-Toe... that game is IMPOSSIBLE!

I'm sorry guys, but this is the hardest game in the world. Stayed up till 5am playing this on 4chan.

Easy mode: No singing.
Hard mode: No humming.
Nightmare mode: No moving ANYTHING to the beat.

VICTORY!!!! I think I had like 458 deaths.....

I am the only person on this planet who has beat Battletoads on an original NES with no cheats.

NOoo way, impossible!!!!!! how do you get past the bike riding part? That game was soo much fun until you get up to that point, and then it was just to hard for humans.

the bike riding part? lol, that is like level 3. Its pretty difficult, but its only the beginning...the snake levels insane, and the one where you race the rat is bloody hard.

Basically, me and a buddy spent a year in residence playing that game. We are talking 3-4 hours a day, on the glorious day that we beat it he had actually left on a date with his girlfriend, leaving me to go it alone. I actually made it to the top of the dark tower, but I only had like 3 lives left. I knew he still had one continue left so I phoned him up and he was over in about 10 mins to join in and we beat the s**t out of her.

It's really a great game though, too bad so many people only got to see 3 levels of it because they are all really unique and fun.

I always wanted to see those levels, I even thought there might be some glitch making that bike level so hard.

Seriously, I don't understand the trend games that are just hard for hardness' sake. I could easily slap together a hack of Mario that would be more or less humanly impossible. A game needs to be fun to make it worth playing.

Oh, and incidentally? Crystal Quest has never been beaten. The farthest a human has ever made is about level 180. Even computer programs written to be almost perfect at the game have never made it past level 254, out of 255.

I lost on easy for the first song. It is humanly impossible for me to NOT SING ALONG to anything by Queen....

*sigh*

I did it just shy of 700 deaths a while back, I took a screenshot, but I think I may have deleted it since...

Awesome game. Ate a lot of my life.
Eventually did it at about 254 deaths.

First time I completed it was 1100+ deaths...
