Man Steals Church Roof Using Google Earth
Man Steals Church Roof Using Google Earth
The builder used the mapping site to spot lead roofs in South London. He'd then scale the buildings, many of them listed, and half-inch the valuable metal. His targets included Honeywood Museum in Carshalton, Sutton High School for Girls and Croydon Parish Church. picked by suebe 9 months ago

I have to say he's a rather smart, as far as crooks go. How many people could spot a lead roof if it were right in front of them, much less from a Google Earth photo. He certainly got what he deserved in the end, but I'll still give him a nod for being so resourceful.
