*Whew, wipes forehead*

I am glad that the article also states that Michelle picked up a shovel and also got to work...

I think it is a great thing. To teach children where the food they eat comes from... In Venezuela, we had horticulture class where we had to dig and work a garden.

Good for them...

I think this is terrific and sets a great example for people everywhere. Especially for children.

Your headline is very misleading, are you trying to make a joke?

It is pretty obvious that Michelle feels strongly about healthy eating, and is trying to get these kids to eat more vegetables.

Pssst. I think it was a joke. Also, provocative headlines will generate more people reading the post.

I hope no one who upvoted this 'sensational' headline ever complains about the sensationalist media.

I think this is becoming more and more necessary as the packaging of food makes people more and more isolated from the origin of the food.

Perhaps slaughtering a cow on the lawn of the Whitehouse to demonstrate where steaks come from would be a step to far, but this is good.

I like the idea of your horticultural classes - I think a lot of places where there is removal from the land would benefit from knowing where their food comes from.
