I think that's the key here. I don't think a minor should EVER have to submit to a strip search without a parent or court appointed laison present. The school should have held the student aside and contacted the parents if they felt there was a drug issue.

At my kids' school, every teacher, custodian, teacher's aid, even the hot lunch guy and the parent volunteers, EVERYONE had to undergo Rules of Conduct training before they are ever allowed to interact with the students. One of the first things you learn: NEVER touch a student or ask to see under their clothes. You would think it would be common sense, but apparently not.

Everyone is guilty until proven innocent - an assumption held towards all children in their district apparently, shows that their sense of self-righteous moral superiority and cruel condescension is unscathed by these charges.

Ibuprofen is not good to get high or low, but still it is a drug and most school districts instruct the students to leave all prescriptions with the school nurse. Taking it with them to the school counts as a sign of drug abuse.

What do you expect? When the administration is responsible for writing and interpreting the rules of a system, also for judging and executing the decisions the system will deteriorate, it will abuse human rights.

Agreed. If the police need to have the parents present to question a minor why don't the schools need to follow these guidelines? Besides if a child has a prescription drug like this, often the parents are the ones who sent it along, by bringing the parents in on the "search" then the parents can learn about the rules.
