 Surprise Star Trek Premier
Surprise Star Trek Premier
Film goers attending a showing of Wrath of Kahn were told they'd see a 10-minute preview of the new Star Trek movie. About 2 minutes into the movie, the film seemed to melt. Leonard Nimoy then comes out and asks if they'd rather see the new movie instead. picked by 2manyusernames 8 months ago

This will be recorded as one of the best stunts every pulled by a movie studio.

I imagine those 200 fans must have been ecstatic.

No, sorry: The best stunt ever pulled by a movie studio was in 2004, when Sony Pictures managed to get a copy of Spider-Man II from Munich, Germany to a campus cinema almost 400 miles away, during the time it took to screen Spider-Man I, plus the 25 minutes before the scheduled screening of part II, when we discovered that they'd shipped the wrong box.

That same incident will also be recorded as one of the most intimidating impressions I ever made over the telephone.

They should TOTALLY Sue.

They didn't get to see the Khan movie.
They didn't get to see the promised 10-minute teaser.

This kind of thing can't go unpunished.

In today's society... They'd win.

And then have a million Trekkies hunt them down and shoot them with modified tv remotes.
