Father, sued by 12-year old daughter due to being grounded loses appeal
In an update to this story, the father appealed his case to a higher court but lost! His daughter was chatting on blocked sites and sending inappropriate pictures of herself despite her legal guardian's instructions. Somehow the courts felt that being grounded was too harsh of a punishment. picked by 2manyusernames 8 months ago

WTF? She sued him? I spent most of my high school years grounded...for whatever reasons. I deserved it every time.

What a shame to see this relationship torn apart. And what a waste to have it go through the legal system.

Not only a waste through the legal systems but look at what the dad losing says about the legal system and what kind of message this sends to other disgruntled angsty teens.

I was thinking more...WTF? She won? She deserved to be punished but by whining to the courts she got off...for doing something that teen in the US are going to jail for. Something is rotten in the court system in Canada (or maybe it's just Quebec...they want to split...let them before the rotten spreads)

I guess if this is how the courts are thinking...it's back to good old spanking for the child...they have taken away the non-violent form of punishment.

"In its Monday ruling, the appeal court warned the case should not be seen as an open invitation for children to take legal action every time they're grounded."

Sorry, but how can it be anything but an open invitation?
